Inspired by @quatrainman, I've decided to cover all 3142 counties or county-equivalents of the United States, plus the 100 county equivalents in the incorporated and unincorporated territories. Counties will be presented randomly (I actually used a randomizer for this).

Given all of the brands that make Marie biscuits in India, it’s incredible that none of them have replicated Goya’s chocolate Marie version. These are just so so so good.

@souzarthur1910 @Greenie_34 The original post referred to Ronaldo calling Brazil underdogs which they weren’t in 1994 even though the country didn’t believe in them. Also the qualifying issues stem from them starting with 4 straight away games (why?) of which they won 1, drew 2 and lost at 3500m to Bolivia

@ymarathe @Greenie_34 Bro, trust me, most people here - both the fans and the media - didn’t believe we could win that WC, even with the players we had. Like I said, we had a poor qualifying campaign, and Brazil had also gone 24 years without winning the tournament.

@ymarathe @Greenie_34 We weren’t favorites in 1994 lol, we had a poor qualifying campaign and only secured qualification in the final round.

@SiriusLee666 Canada Mexico do get serious storms but US gets them way more frequently because it does have a unique geography where it's hot & cold both, plus a lot of freshwater, big plains, mountains, Gulf stream, etc. Canada is too cold and Mexico too dry to get them as often as we do.

I'll never get used to how devastating random thunderstorms can be in America. I'm not talking hurricanes and tornadoes which are definitionally destructive. I'm talking about this random storm your phone warns you about and suddenly there are fallen trees everywhere!

@WWFerguson2 @adriaeln Not since they became independent, not a majority anyway. Much like in the former Yugoslavia, everyone spoke “Serbo-Croatian” and then all of a sudden in 1991 the Croats were speaking Croatian and not Serbian which was obviously a barbarian language.

@ymarathe @adriaeln But most Montenegrins just call their language "Serbian." Or at least they did. It's much closer to Serbian dialects than whatever the most popular Croatian dialect is.

@WWFerguson2 @adriaeln Shtokian Croatian, standard Serbian, Bosnian and standard Montenegrin might as well be called regional varieties of the same language. Montenegrin also usually uses the Latin alphabet like Croatian, while Serbian uses Cyrillic. (Although all three can be written in both).

@adriaeln It strikes me as very weird to use Croatian as the comparison? I think the whole debate within the former Yugoslavia is whether to refer to Montenegrin as a language, or simply just the variety of Serbian spoken in Montenegro.

@fawfulfan When I moved to the twin cities I was shocked to learn it's based up here and was founded in IL. I would've bet my life savings it was founded in texas

Cornyn is obviously getting mocked here for not talking like a human being, but FWIW, non-Texans may not know that DQ — despite not having been founded in Texas — is a Texas institution, with its own franchise system that has a distinct menu and branding from DQ in other states.

Stopped by @DairyQueen in Sealy, Texas, otherwise known as the “Texas stop sign,” to sample some of their delicious fare. I highly recommend the Blizzard. (I had that after I ate this child-size cone)

@nikicaga She’s incredible. Shame she lost in 2024. Can’t wait to send Brooks to DC though. Met Ryan Mackenzie in person a couple of years ago at an event when I didn’t really know who he was and he gave me slimy politician vibes.

@Greenie_34 Also fitness would most definitely be an issue. Even if you’re in decent shape physically, fitness would still be an issue.

@gauravsabnis I remember Kapil’s signature from a bat one of my friends had (SG I think, they also had an Azhar edition and a pretty popular Ganguly one mainly because of the initials).

Yeah any Indian cricket fan from the 80s can instantly tell the signature is fake. Kapil had this famously unique signature where the K looked like र. While some variations are likely, this is just completely different!
Kirti Azad@KirtiAzaad

This is fake. It is all over social media. We stayed at Westmoreland Hotel, next to Lords cricket Ground, London. After the victory on 25 June 1983 celebrations took place all night till morning of 26th June. We never went to this hotel. The signature of Kapil Dev is also forged.

@gauravsabnis @swaruprdas Although the typical boli bhasha rendering would read closer to त्यात्ल्यात्यात which just looks horrifying when you write it down.

A most Marathi fact about the NYC Desi food scene is that the "tyatalyatyat" most legit vadapav in the city is made by a place called Madras Dosa Company. 🤣🤣🤣
