I honestly miss the old Twitter…before everything became algorithm-controlled. We were a tight cyber family. We got to know each other so well because we actually followed and engaged with one another’s posts. You could share something, and your people would get it, because they understood who you were from what you consistently shared. You could take a break to digitally detox, and when you came back, your DMs would be blowing up with messages from friends…some you’d never even met in real life. Some of those connections grew into business ventures, some into real friendships, and some even into marriages. It was beautiful to witness. With others, we even migrated to WhatsApp and continued being a close-knit family. Of late, it’s just been too much, and the pain of constantly having to explain yourself after a misinterpreted post is not something I was prepared for. But here we are…I really miss Jack’s platform . The streets were just amazing to navigate.

@CapePatriotic I saw two Nigerian nationals deposit cash at an Absa atm in Canal Walk Mall, the cash was all bundled in I would guess atleast 10k notes. 2x Atm's I ask, where do they get these amounts of cash? OH, wait, we all know. After years with @AbsaSouthAfrica, I closed my account today.

The last call I made on 2nd January it was confirmed, by accounts that my debit order date has been changed to the 1st February, my billing has also been changed to arrears. Why did I have a debit order go off yesterday???🤬

As a person living with ADHD. You must organise your life in a way that works best for you. And educate people along the way. Let them know; I might want to join you for lunch, but when the time arrives, my brain might feel otherwise. So if I cancel, don’t take it personally. I don’t cancel ut of lack of respect. It’s not indifference. It’s simply how my brain is wired. My brain processes energy, attention and stimulation differently. What feels manageable when I commit can feel overwhelming when the moment arrives; not because I’ve changed my mind emotionally, but because my nervous system has reached its limit. Social interaction, decision-making, movement, noise, and conversation all draw from the same mental reserve. When that reserve is depleted, the brain protects itself by pulling back. People often ask, but what about work, you always show up, on time, you are great at all you do and you never, ever disappoint. Here’s the irony; in professional environments, many of us with ADHD are star performers. Why? Because pressure sharpens us. Deadlines propel us to focus. Complexity excites us. We are often exceptional at problem-solving, pattern recognition, creative thinking, crisis management and seeing connections others miss. When we care, we care deeply and we work with intensity, speed, and deligence compared to none. Hence I can say no one can do what I do like I do! No one! Given the choice, I would prioritise hiring someone with ADHD over someone who is neurotypical; provided the environment understands how to harness that brain properly. Our different wiring should not be seen as defective wiring. It simply means we need a different operating manual.
