@ctv_mack @luhsunnyy outside of Matt which was also disappointing. I don’t need them to retread the same ground as the og Netflix show, but especially for arcs and relationships set up in this show we needed way more time for them.

@ctv_mack @luhsunnyy on romance. I love the idea of them conflicting on what they think is justice, I just don’t feel like that was well explored. That conflict didn’t feel fully resolved and tbh it kind of felt like they just dropped that plot point. Also Karen barely got any screen time

#DaredevilBornAgain spoilers I think the biggest problem with the identity reveal is that for me it had no weight to it. They haven’t built up Matt’s personal life enough for me to believe this would be really impactful. Physically, he is in jail. Emotionally, what did he lose?

Anyway onto daredevil stuff I’m really enjoying, issue 2 of Stephanie Phillips’ new run is out and it was great! Highly recommend every daredevil fan go check it out.

@ctv_mack @luhsunnyy mean his life being an attorney, but his life outside of JUST being daredevil and fighting Fisk. His relationships w Karen and Kirsten for example should have been way more developed. That would have increased the emotional impact of the reveal in the court room.

@zeelovescomics That's a whole different problem. It's also very fair. These seasons are too short to flesh things out. But the narrative issues don't make any of what I mentioned less true. That's still the answer to your question. They just didn't do the best job narratively with any of it.

@Excalibur_Ren Just rewatched it before ddba s2. Won’t deny s2 has its problems but I’d prefer the slower pace w more time to spend w characters than a rushed plot w no time for character focus.

@zeelovescomics please rewatch s2 when you get the chance and its fully when the problem of 13 ep seasons started to where in the later half alot of feels like its spinning it wheels, compared to born again s2 keeping the plot focus on matt and fisk making the central conflict focused

Truly don’t understand how people were saying ddba was on par w even s2 of the og Netflix show. All of Netflix daredevil was at LEAST 10x better than this.

His reveal was literally a checkmate because Kingpin never expected both a video confession from the co-captain AND Matt revealing his identity. That alone was a great subversion of cases in this series being tossed due to dead witnesses or bribed officials.

@BookwyrmRachel Yeah it’s a huge failure on the shows part that they chose to draw parallels between anti-fascism and Jan 6. Friend of mine saw those parallels and made a joke abt it but I found it incredibly disturbing especially w the rest of the copganda in the episode.

Born Again s2 with Matt and Karen as resistance leaders should have been a blueprint on how to fight fascism but bizarrely ends w a mini Jan 6 mob storming a building symbolic of American institutions of justice & civil leadership while chanting kill the leader. Then Fisk faces
