@jen_tcg Zero summon Raye and Roze to pop, Raye summon Kagari. Kagari chain link 1 target Linkage, banish Lemnisgate chain link 2. Link Kagari and Roze into Azalea to pop again, if you pop the extra monster zone activate Roze in grave to reborn and chain linkage for Amatsu to pop AGAIN

one thing I didn’t really get until I had to find lines to clear my opponent’s t1 board was just how hard kagari hits w linkage. you can easily get it over 4000 ATK and kill anything
and then linkage comes back with kagari and then you get another guy?????

@Evilcon27 the answer to this is that you aren't meeting yugioh where it is and are putting an unfair expectation. in mtg even though the turns count is higher, game determinative things happened in those early turns and people are just not skilled enough to notice

@Evilcon27 @JJPM_YT feature, not a problem. yugioh has massive amounts of interaction within a lower turn count instead of spreading them out into several turns. it's a different philosophy, yes, but not a problem when you meet the game where is instead of where you think it should be.

@Krojak_YGO stuff that is exclusively inspired by the same medium that it's in is like, self cannibalization and often is unwilling to tread any new ground in story or presentation. imo this is most often seen in games but you can RELLY tell when it happens in manga/comics

Consuming & getting influenced by too much or only manga is NOT good. It leads to tropes, boring inspos & a loss of Identity...Look at Yugioh, DBZ, OP, War of Adults or any "good story" manga.
They were good because they were inspired by their interests and hobbies outside manga

@caramelpepsi @jen_tcg small nitpick but try to never announce you're moving toward battle. you say you're wanting to move to end of main. when priority passes back, you enter the phase of your choosing. this is when you say enter battle or enter end phase. this sounds small but matters a lot

what’s the proper etiquette for playing irl and confirming that your opponent won’t respond to your effects?
last week when I went to my first local, I would play a card, and then my opponent and I awkwardly stared at each other for a few seconds before I played another one. 😭

@DistantCoder Minimize potential damage to yourself and make sure your team (selected party) is equipped to handle the problems in front of you, if Rock Slide flinching keeps killing you then maybe run something faster than Aero (TR?), maybe a Wide Guard, maybe even Rock Slide back at them.

Ok so I've been playing Pokémon champions very actively for about a week now and I have a genuine question to ask regular VGC players.
How on earth do y'all deal with the CRAZY amount of RNG in this game? Feels like every 2-3 games are decided by a flinch or a crit, it's unreal.

@Coziniko @KongoBongoMax @no_dupes it very much was a noobtrap lol, you are absolutely right. during gen 4 I went from bottom 50 to just a couple points below top 75 when I quit (around latias unban), so I played all over the ladder. not one loss to vire even when I was one of the worst players. it's so bad :(

@zeroBackwards @KongoBongoMax @no_dupes It's the biggest noobtrap of the franchise. Zeraora is what Vire should have been. A fast mixed electric with good coverage and a strong and reliable STAB move. The buffs it got in Gen 9 practically telegraph that.

@KongoBongoMax @no_dupes To change things to worse. Electivire is a downgrade from Electabuzz. It's ironic how it got enough usage in it's debut generation to never drop from OU despite being the worst electric type of the tier.

@artic0de @zooratpier gadget had years before machina came out where they were good, generally falling in the tier 1 to 2 range. they +1 on summon and played a bunch of hard removal to force favorable card advantage to slowly grind out a win. gadget definitely counts tbh, one of early ygo's best
