Nigeria stands firmly as a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees of religious liberty.
Since 2023, our administration has maintained an open and active engagement with Christian and Muslim leaders alike and continues to address security challenges which affect citizens across faiths and regions.
The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians.
Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it.
Nigeria is a country with constitutional guarantees to protect citizens of all faiths.
Our administration is committed to working with the United States government and the international community to deepen understanding and cooperation on protection of communities of all faiths.
BOLA AHMED TINUBU
PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

@titisanni @officialABAT Speak for yourself madam.. You and your family, not we Nigerians.
English

@officialABAT We Nigerians are solidly with you Mr. President.
The attention seekers are not worth the effort you put into this message. Hold your shoulders high and welcome to the club of countries putting the bully country in it's place. Sad the once esteemed US has degenerated into this.

@BlossomL86365 @NigeriaStories There has never been unity Mrs Blossom.. Don't pretend to be the right person here. I'm in support of the dividing ship. Let everyone their fate. Peace won't unity Nigeria, but separation will. It's obvious.
English

@NigeriaStories A lot of replies here show how disjointed we are as a country. No unity, no good affirmations even from the so called citizens. We seek and clamour for a change as if it's another human entity coming from nowhere, whereas we "the supposed change makers are not even near readiness"

Our traditional institutions are the sacred custodians of our varied history and play a crucial role in social cohesion. They embody the resilience of our people and stand as a bridge between our proud heritage and the promise of our shared future.
Today in Ibadan, as we celebrated the coronation of my brother, friend, and ally, His Imperial Majesty Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, I was reminded once again that history rewards perseverance, resilience, and service to community.
I congratulate Kabiyesi on this historic ascension to the throne of his forefathers and pray for his reign to be long, prosperous, and impactful.
As we honour our traditions, we also reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger economy and a more secure, united, and hopeful Nigeria. The journey of reform has not been without its tests, but together we have turned the corner, and there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel.
May the reign of Oba Ladoja bring peace, progress, and pride to Ibadanland, Oyo State, and our beloved country, Nigeria.

To the Commonwealth Family,
It is time for Africa. After 100 years of the Commonwealth Games, they have never been hosted on African soil. By bringing the Commonwealth Centenary Games to Nigeria in 2030, you will send a powerful message that every region of the Commonwealth matters, and that Africa is not only part of the story, but central to its future.
Nigeria is the gateway. Africa is the stage. The Commonwealth is the family. Let us make history together in 2030. Let us complete the circle of Commonwealth unity.
The dream must be realized. The time is now.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu
President
Federal Republic of Nigeria

I am happy to address you today on the state of emergency declaration in Rivers State. You will recall that on 18th March, 2025, I proclaimed a state of emergency in the state. In my proclamation address, I highlighted the reasons for the declaration.
The summary of it for context is that there was a total paralysis of governance in Rivers State, which had led to the Governor of Rivers State and the House of Assembly being unable to work together. Critical economic assets of the State, including oil pipelines, were being vandalised.
The State House of Assembly was crisis-ridden, such that members of the House were divided into two groups. Four members worked with the Governor, while 27 members opposed the Governor.
The latter group supported the Speaker. As a result, the Governor could not present any Appropriation Bill to the House, to enable him to access funds to run Rivers State's affairs.
That serious constitutional impasse brought governance in the State to a standstill. Even the Supreme Court, in one of its judgments in a series of cases filed by the Executive and the Legislative arms of Rivers State against each other, held that there was no government in Rivers State.
My intervention and that of other well-meaning Nigerians to resolve the conflict proved abortive as both sides stuck rigidly to their positions to the detriment of peace and development of the State.
It therefore became painfully inevitable that to arrest the drift towards anarchy in Rivers State, I was obligated to invoke the powers conferred on me by Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, to proclaim the state of emergency. The Offices of the Governor, Deputy Governor, and elected members of the State House of Assembly were suspended for six months in the first instance. The six months expire today, September 17th, 2025.
English

With effect from midnight today, the State of Emergency in Rivers State is hereby lifted. Governor Siminalayi Fubara, Deputy Governor Ngozi Nma Odu, and the State House of Assembly will resume their constitutional duties from September 18, 2025.
My statement on the cessation of the State of Emergency in Rivers State:

@DanielRegha Asher kine na broke guy!! Person wey get money no dey misbehave like that. U said u're rich still dey use ur leg dey waka under sun for school wey u no be student.. Broke boy met broke girl.
English

Asher Kine is actually the problem, whether or not Kennedy and Becky are/were dating is their personal drama to handle. There's content, and there's overdoing things, and what he did was set an unrealistic standard for Becky and a lot of people. You met someone for the first time, fly her out, spent heavily on items (like wigs that cost over N1.3m) she clearly doesn't need as a student, and then act all lovey-dovey; To what end? Even the Becky looks well taken care of, there are many students in that same uni that most definitely need help financially. We encourage a lot of wrongful acts then complain when it's being normalized. Absolute NONSENSE.
English

@DanielRegha Bro u re right, leave those fools!! I can beat to my chest that this boy asher kine abi wetin, go get one trench cousin sister wey carry all back like this girl, and dem go dey text am he'll be ignoring their chats.. Now u don go spoil person relationship,.. Poor boy and girl
