Its been two hours that ive been trying to get in orbit. Jebediah is tired of hearing Major Tom and Im Just Ken (for some reason im just ken plays when hes up 50000m or start to centrifuge accidentally)

every now and then a new spacecraft explodes, but none of them will ever dethrone the KING of spacecraft explosions

In the middle of a mission already defined by crisis, Swigert radioed Houston to ask whether he’d be penalized for missing the deadline. The moment broke the tension in Mission Control, a rare flash of humor during a flight that had nearly ended in disaster after an oxygen tank explosion. NASA took the question seriously and contacted the IRS on his behalf. The agency confirmed that Swigert qualified as “out of the country,” a category that automatically granted an extension, even if the “country” he was out of happened to be Earth itself. The exchange became one of the most human moments of the mission, a reminder that even astronauts juggling life‑or‑death calculations still worried about the same bureaucratic headaches as everyone else.
