🔸If you live in a country where you can speak of former presidents, you have no idea how lucky you are. Others have been in power since 1980, before the internet was created. They still hold on, even when the nation is hanging by a thin, hungry thread. By whatever means necessary, they cling on - even though the masses say no. To them, the people are an inconvenient herd that can be ignored. To them, it doesn’t matter if the soul of the nation dies in the process, or if the people are poorer than they were in the seventies or that they have no big idea to take the nation forward. They will slaughter the constitution and sacrifice a hard won democracy at the alter of their greed. They must eat and we must starve. They want power for power’s sake and are intoxicated by the stolen wealth that embellishes their continued stay in it. How many wars must a country fight before it can be free? The difference is that the Lancaster House Constitution was an expedient document designed in a few weeks to end a war, not a sacred pact designed by the people of Zimbabwe, created after an intensive consultation countrywide and reflecting the deep rooted will of the people. Using the Lancaster House Constitution is a very poor excuse for a process which rips apart the essence of the Zimbabwean Constitution supported by 94% of the electorate who voted for it in 2013. If you honestly believe what is proposed is an improvement and in the best interests of the people, not an obscenely rich cabal, then comply with section 328 of the Constitution and submit it to a national referendum. One final point - the British designed Lancaster Constitution never required a referendum for its amendment unlike the Zimbabwean People’s Constitution sacredly agreed to in 2013.

Her crime was to say No to Constitution Amendment 3 in Bulawayo. Now they are hunting her down. There should be personal cost to all who consciously enforce the suffering of our pple.
