Remembering Mohammed Saleem 13 years on On April 29, 2013, 82-year-old Mohammed Saleem was murdered in Birmingham in what became one of Britain’s most shocking acts of anti-Muslim terror. The grandfather was walking home from evening prayers at Green Lane Masjid in Small Heath when he was stabbed to death by Ukrainian neo-Nazi Pavlo Lapshyn. Lapshyn later admitted to carrying out the attack as part of a campaign of terror targeting Muslims. He also planted bombs outside mosques across the West Midlands and told police he wanted to start a race war.
