Mixed bag of results for Labour today in Peterborough. Holds & losses. Thank you to everyone who voted and voted Labour. We need to do better. That needs calm heads & listening to public rather than an internal party soap opera.

When souls are corrupt & all they want is to gratify their own needs, they can’t tolerate light in others. They repel it & don’t feel comfortable in its presence. Keir Starmer’s genuinely a good pure soul. He has been treated shamefully by many. I hope the good rise up & support.

This was once Margaret Thatcher’s stalwart council in London, famously associated with the low rates system that later evolved into council tax. Yet the loss of nine seats, leading to no overall control, is hardly the political disaster some will attempt to portray it as. Local elections are fragmented, often driven by local grievances and turnout, rather than being a direct reflection of national voting intention. More importantly, no single party has emerged with outright dominance from this result.

Every advance of the nationalist right makes the world a more uncertain, unsafe place, leading to yet more economic dislocation. Everyone suffers, but especially those from demographic groups most likely to vote Reform - as already seen from the impact of Brexit.

How absolutely ridiculous that so many British adults have no clue of the difference between a local election and a General election. It probably explains why populists do so well. People do not inform themselves. So they get scammed. Daily.

#BBCNews #Election26 Reform UK Ltd are doing well with elderly white people and white working-class males, and we all know what they like; the anti-immigrant policies. We saw the same thing happen in America, but racist populism only lasts a while, as #MAGA will see in November.

The collective UK media have waited until AFTER the election to offer scrutiny to Nigel Farage and his £5 million Thailand bribe. Allowing Farage to first gain his racist votes. Now they’re pretending to be impartial. We have a media problem. A very dangerous one.

As expected Reform won 11 of the 14 seats in Basildon. The Tories won the other 3. Labour had done such a good job here. I’m very disappointed. But on the plus side we have another election soon as Essex is up for change and by then we will see how Reform fare here. #Gutted

Here is Nathan Gill with Farage, Tice, Arron Banks and Andy Wigmore. All of these men have interesting connections with Russia. The only exception is perhaps, Tice, whose luxurious holiday last year with Russian oligarch Vladimir Chernukhin and his wife, Lubov, is counterbalanced by his support for Ukraine.
