I see the hailing and the names; he’s audacious, he’s this and that which, to be fair, is rightfully deserved. But do we all understand that this is how it should be for every individual? The government is meant to serve you, not the other way around… Now put this into context: a woman stood up, wore grieving cloth, went to the airport to welcome the very person who was supposed to be responsible for the safety of her now dead son and still knelt right in front of him. Oh jeeeezz… our gods are useless; that was a moment thunder was needed... How can you, a grieving mother, leave your house to meet the one who is coming to pay you condolences? And you think these politicians don't think they are gods? They treat us like shiite with absolutely no respect…

On this same day, 2 years ago, Peter Obi made this tweet congratulating Tunde Onakoya. Till this day, Tunde has refused to reply nor acknowledge it. What does that tell you?

My dear Tunde Onakoya @Tunde_OD, I dutifully followed with keen interest, your noble mission and cherished aspirations to surpass the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon for 58 hours.

🚨 After Benfica's 90+3' winner against Sporting last night, José Mourinho's Benfica remain the only team in Europe's big leagues to be 𝗨𝗡𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗡 this season. They are 4 games away from becoming 𝗜𝗡𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘𝗦 in Portugal's Primeira Liga. However, despite being 30 games out of 30 without defeat they are 7 points behind FC Porto because they've drawn 9 matches.

Some blatant BS on Tunde Onakoya's post and why it should be criticized rather than celebrated. First BS: The Louvre is one of the most visited places on Earth; thousands of people from everywhere pass through daily, including Nigerians and other Africans who live in or visit Paris. Plenty have probably sat down with a chessboard or phone app there without filming it. So you are most likely not the first. Second BS: This is not climbing Everest, curing a disease, or even winning a real tournament. It's content creation with a cinematic filter, motivational voiceover, and agbada for aesthetics. There is nothing special about it. Third BS: You are belittling the whole country because it implies that basic visibility abroad (with a camera crew) is some rare triumph for the culture, rather than just normal life for mobile people in 2025/2026. Nigerians (and Black people broadly) achieve far more concrete things daily without the hype reel. Now you make it seem like playing chess in an open museum is groundbreaking achievement in Nigeria. While this doesn't take anything away from what you have achieved, especially for the poor kids who live in Nigeria, it displays self aggrandization and foolish puffery. It's an embarrassment to the whole country.

🚨🗣️ Patrice Evra on Casemiro career at United: "I have huge respect for Casemiro, even more so when he came to Man United and things didn't go his way and he's stuck at it and he's shown ridiculous character. He did well at United. I'm happy, especially the way also for his last season and he scored some important goals for us. If you ask the fans about him they all will say good things about the way he played his career at United.’’ #MUFC [@RioMeets]

🚨🇧🇷 Estevão, expected to be fit and ready for World Cup call by Carlo Ancelotti in May. Hamstring injury could keep Estevão out for 15/20 days, @cahemota reports — back in May, hoping for potential FA Cup final with Chelsea. No doubts for the World Cup.

Her name is Happiness. She graduated from the Federal University of Nasarawa State and successfully completed her NYSC service. Sadly, she is now seriously ill and back in her village. To make matters worse, her grandmother, who had been taking care of her, has also passed away. She is currently going through a very difficult time. Please, even if it’s just a moment, remember her in your prayers.

🚨🗣️ Toni Kroos: “Values I added? I always tried to be a team player. I was clear that I could only achieve great things by playing as a team. Doing that doesn’t mean having 11 or 25 friends on the roster. I’ve never been on a team with 20 friends, that’s impossible. But in the teams where I’ve won, we understood when it was necessary to be a team, to put egos aside, to contribute individual quality so the team could benefit. I think that’s key to winning great things.”
