Antiracism in action: University of Texas makes SATs optional for applicants, and then automatically accepts those students in the top 6% of their HS class — even if it doesn't know their SAT score and even if the high school from which they're graduating has almost no students proficient in math or reading. So what's the college GPA difference between those students accepted by Texas who opt out of submitting their SAT score, and those who submit their SAT score when they apply: A whopping 0.86 grade points. The difference in their SAT scores: 260 points.

India does not have the luxury of “beds” in this region. We are not in a caravan serai. We are tied to the Gulf for energy, diaspora, and capital. That is undeniable. But to reduce our long-term position to a binary, Arab side versus Iran, is a misalignment of both geography and strategy. Iran is not peripheral to India. It sits at the hinge of our continental access, our connectivity ambitions, and our extended neighbourhood. We cannot wish it away because it is inconvenient in a crisis. Strategic autonomy is not about choosing the side with the larger balance sheet. It is about refusing false choices altogether. Yes, India must protect its citizens in the Gulf. Yes, it must secure energy flows. But it must also preserve a working relationship with Iran, not as a sentimental gesture, but as a strategic necessity. When India accepts that it must “back” one side in a complex regional conflict, it has already narrowed its own options. We are not an adjunct to anyone’s camp. We are a country with interests on all sides. The real test is whether we can hold that position without drifting into the comfort of alignment presented as pragmatism.

Released on XL Recordings in 1996, the track became one of the defining records of the decade. Its iconic video, directed by Walter Stern and filmed in a disused London Underground tunnel, remains one of the most recognisable visuals of the 90s. 
The stark, black-and-white shoot wasn’t the first video made for the track. An earlier, higher-budget version had already been filmed but was ultimately scrapped, leading the band back to a stripped-back concept that placed Keith Flint front and centre and captured the performance that would come to define the record. 
Firestarter went on to top the UK charts for three weeks and became a worldwide hit.

The date stamp tells the story. 2018-2022 was the peak of SYSTEMIC racism and sexism in the 21st century — only not in the direction that you've been taught.
