I am reading a lot about excellence in opera and it being elite etc. I have very recently discovered the absolute thrill and joy of opera. I can go to see one at @E_N_O From as little as £10. I usually pay about £30 for front row balcony. It costs over £100 to see Abba holograms.

As we’re all a little tired of endlessly repeating, there is no such thing as “ENO” without the people who actually create the performances. You’re moving a brand-name, not a company in any meaningful sense.

Unsurprisingly, this statement is more notable for what it doesn’t say than what it does. No clues as to where or how often performances in Manchester will take place, and, more ominously, no mention of whether the current chorus, orchestra or technical team will be involved… 🐘
