If Keir Starmer had said before the election that he would remove the winter fuel allowance from millions of pensioners, punish the disabled with welfare cuts, enforce digital ID, appoint Peter Mandelson as UK ambassador to the US, sell out fishermen to the EU, give away £millions of money to overseas net zero and farming projects while hammering UK family farmers with inheritance tax, ban coal mines and new oil and gas licenses in the North Sea yet import £40bn of oil and gas from Norway (from the m North Sea), massively increase the national debt, increase the tax burden to record levels, increase the government deficit to record levels, destroy business confidence with national insurance increases, council tax & energy price increases, raise university tuition fees, transfer sovereignty of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius and pay £35bn in the process, plaster mass-scale solar panels on thousands of acres of prime farmland despite huge local community objections, talk tough on sorting out illegal migration yet small boats crossings have reached record levels, spaff £30bn of taxpayers’ money on carbon capture machines, give £3bn a year of taxpayers’ money to Ukraine and ratchet up hawkish warmongering rhetoric and get exposed for receiving over £100,000 worth of freebies - he almost certainly wouldn’t have won. He duped the electorate. An utterly shameless display of snake oil political salesmanship. And still he lectures all of us in that gratingly sanctimonious manner of his like we are all somehow the problem here.

India ran the most important cardiovascular study of the 20th century by accident, and then immediately forgot about it. In 1967, Dr. S.L. Malhotra published a study in the British Heart Journal examining heart disease rates among 1.5 million Indian railway employees. The population was extraordinarily useful for research purposes: same employer, same healthcare access, comparable income and working conditions, spread across the entire country. The only meaningful variable was geography. Which meant diet. North Indian railway workers: Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, ate a diet built around ghee and dairy fat. They consumed up to 19 times more fat than their southern counterparts. The fat was primarily saturated: clarified butter, milk fat, the short-chain saturated fatty acids that Ancel Keys had recently been telling the Western world were arterial death. South Indian railway workers ate a diet based on rice, sambar, and seed oils: groundnut oil and sesame oil, primarily. They ate considerably less fat overall. By the standards of dietary advice being formulated in the 1960s, they should have been the healthy ones. Heart disease mortality in South India: 135 per 100,000. Heart disease mortality in North India: 20 per 100,000. Seven times higher in the population eating seed oils. Among railway sweepers specifically, the lowest-paid, most physically active workers, the gap was even wider. Heart disease was fifteen times more common in the South Indian sweeper population than in the North Indian sweeper population. Malhotra controlled for everything he could reach: smoking, where Northerners actually smoked more. Activity levels, where the relationship was inconsistent. Socioeconomic status, where executives died more often than sweepers regardless of region. He found no variable that explained the gap except the type of fat in the diet. He published the data. In a peer-reviewed journal. In 1967. The study was cited periodically, acknowledged as methodologically interesting, and then set aside. The decade in which Malhotra published was the decade in which Ancel Keys's fat hypothesis was being converted into policy. The American Heart Association was issuing guidance recommending polyunsaturated vegetable oils as replacements for saturated animal fats. The food industry was producing seed oils at industrial scale. The infrastructure of seed oil promotion was being built, expensively and with great institutional momentum. A study showing that populations eating animal fat had a fraction of the heart disease of populations eating seed oils was not, in that context, a study that anyone particularly wanted to follow up. Nobody followed up. Almost sixty years later, the finding stands unrefuted in the literature. It is not in the dietary guidelines.

Well that ends the debate on deaths in Gaza. Hamas itself is admitting that 80% of casualties were combatants. There was never a genocide. You have been lied to and manipulated.

Elon Musk exposes the critical flaw in ChatGPT and other major AI models: Human Reinforcement Learning They are literally training the AI to lie.....to ignore what the data actually demands and say whatever is politically correct instead They withhold information. They comment on some things and stay silent on others. They refuse to tell the full truth This is extremely dangerous We don’t need politically correct AI We need truth-seeking AI

UN Secretary-General António Guterres has frequently said the Earth is 'out of balance' due to heat trapped in the atmosphere. This ignores basic thermodynamics. Guterres says the planet is experiencing an era of 'global boiling'. This is not possible. The atmosphere cannot act as a permanent heat vault. It's a low-density medium with negligible mass and it sheds thermal energy to space every night. The true thermal engine of the planet is the ocean - a 1.3 billion cubic km body of water with 1,000 times the heat capacity of the air. On a clear night, that energy escapes into the vacuum of space at the speed of light. Every molecule in the air radiates infrared energy and without the sun’s shortwave input at night, the atmosphere sheds heat upward. The residence time of atmospheric heat is fleeting. We see this every day. Once the sun sets, air temperatures can drop 10°C to 20°C in hours. The atmosphere has almost no memory of heat. If the sun turned off, the air would lose its warmth in weeks, but the oceans would take millennia. Wind and convection further speed this up, carrying warm air to higher altitudes where the atmospheric blanket is thinnest. This makes it even easier to radiate away. To focus on heat 'trapped' in the air is a fundamental error in scale. #Thermodynamics or #ClimateNuance

Dr Mototaka Nakamura has called climate models mere "toys". They're tuned with guesswork, he says, ignore key drivers like clouds, oceans and the sun, and cannot predict climate. Dr Nakamura is far from fringe. He earned his doctorate at MIT, worked with NASA and Caltech, and spent 25 years studying climate dynamics. "Climate models are Mickey Mouse mockeries of the real world," he says, and he argues scientists have falsified records to exaggerate recent warming. Exaggerations that underpin trillion-dollar policies. Nakamura says meaningful climate forecasting is an impossibility, and that CO2 isn't the control knob.
