ETF News: @CBOE publish proposed rule change to allow the exchange to list and trade Options on the Ethereum Spot ETFs similar to rule change to allow for Bitcoin Options. Cboe BZX Exchange, Inc. (the “Exchange” or “BZX Options”) proposes to amend Rule 19.3, to allow the Exchange to list and trade options on the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum Trust, the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust, and any trust that holds ether (collectively, the “Ethereum Funds”). The text of the proposed rule change is provided in Exhibit 5. The Ethereum Funds provide investors with cost-efficient alternatives that allow a level of 4 Rule 19.3(a) and (b) sets forth the criteria that underlying securities must satisfy for option contracts on those underlying securities to be eligible for listing and trading on the Exchange. 5 The trust may include minimal cash. The Ethereum Funds are similar to the Bitcoin Funds, except that those funds hold Bitcoin (another cryptocurrency) rather than Ethereum, which are already eligible for options trading on the Exchange (i.e., the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, the iShares Bitcoin Trust, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, the Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust, or the Bitwise Bitcoin ETF).
