Today marks the 45th anniversary of the first flight of the Short 360. The Short 360 was created by the manufacturer Short Brothers during the 1980s as a commuter aircraft due to market demand for larger cabins. On this day 110 years ago, the Sopwith Triplane took flight for the very first time. 🛫 This British fighter was designed and manufactured by the Sopwith Aviation Company during World War I and was one of the first successful military triplanes. In fact, the Germans were so impressed by the design that it inspired their famous Fokker Dr.I. (You know what they say about imitation, right?)
