@reece_dinsdale Not as a species. As a nation. The rest of us watching in horror from the outside are not to blame.
English

@BeingJWood I feel the same way and I've been looking in the other direction. It is more telling about the people who follow him really. It means they would latch onto absolutely anyone who spouts a narrative that will confirm their biases, even if it violates all values and decency.

@MayoIsSpicyy I'm guessing this is a rhetorical question. He's been fueling the flames for a long time.
English

@TiffanyFong_ He can't think farther than two words at any one time. The four word sentences are where he got help from a neighbour.

@tolstoybb Sprinting uses fast twitch muscles and recruits anaerobic energy systems. Endurance running mostly uses slow twitch and aerobic systems. Your rage bait based on physical appearance and comparison with cancer tells more about you than your lack of understanding of athletics does
English

@zodfon @tolstoybb You need to expand your reading to include persistence as well as the difference between fast twitch and slow twitch muscles, and the complementary aerobic and anaerobic energy systems.
English

@tolstoybb I read a whole ago that mankind is built for two speeds: walking, and for extremely short bursts, sprinting. (Typically to get away from danger.)
Long distance running isn't something we are well-adapted for; there's no survival need or evolutionary advantage
English

@davidnimaesq @tolstoybb Some are built for short anaerobic bursts. Others are literally endurance hunters. Don't spout nonsense with certainty because it doesn't make you sound smart.
English

@tolstoybb Yup. Humans have not evolved to run long distance. Sprinting on the other hand has survival benefits
English

@regulr_dude @tolstoybb I'd love to see adrenaline carry you for the remaining 32km of a marathon. I'd pay good money to see you attempt it.
English

@RpsAgainstTrump This is insidious. It is preparing for another 'stolen election' narrative. You guys are in trouble and, even from such a distance, it's painful to watch.
English

Q: Given the amount of the mounting evidence of climate change, do you still believe it's a hoax?
Trump: I get awards environmental awards for the way I build it for the water, the way I use the water, the sand, the mixing of the sand and the water, I mean, many different, but I've had many awards over the years for environmental, the way I've built because you know about building, that's what you do. It's very important to me… The real global warming that we have to worry about is nuclear. The water is coming up an eighth of an inch over 300 years, the ocean is gonna rise and, you know, nobody knows if that's true or not, but they're worried about the ocean rising an eighth of an inch or a quarter of an inch in 300 years

@TheRunnerMan17 I'm no pro athlete but I have broken my own 5k and 10k pbs within a fast (by my standards) HM. Until she is undeniably proven to have been doping, let her have this win.

Having a weak President is dangerous to world security
Glenn Greenwald@ggreenwald
The situation in the Middle East is as dangerous as it's been in a long time, and the US President has no functional brain, and the Vice President is focused solely on ascending to power. We are thus again faced with the question: who is making decisions for the US Govt?
English

@AesPolitics1 If America votes this person into office (again) it needs to seriously rethink it's idea of a successful civilisation
