consuming her notes.
Each seductive stroke
became another quote.
Hellfire waits patiently
warming her cold feet.
A flicker of fire burns
for her quiet soul it yearns.
Betwixt the now and tomorrow
she will part in wretched sorrow,
fighting the flames from below,
though they will turn her slow
Slow until the burns run through.
Her very soul has come due.
