Today is the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism. The day when all of Europe marks the end of the most terrible war of the 20th century. A war after which there should have been only genuine peace. That was the dream back then, when the guns of World War II began to fall silent. That war turned our land into a battlefield of brutal fighting, abuse in occupied territory, and the mass destruction of people and life. The losses of the Ukrainian people were among the greatest in World War II. And the contribution of Ukrainians to the defeat of the Nazis was also among the greatest. Millions of Ukrainians, serving in various armies of the Anti-Hitler Coalition states, fought against Nazism. Millions of Ukrainians were among the victors, having done everything in their power to ensure that absolute evil was defeated. Unfortunately, 81 years later, we are once again forced to stop evil – evil that is just as absolute. Evil that brings nothing but ruins and abuse. And evil based on a similar ideology of enmity. An updated version of Nazism, marked: made in Russia. Today, such Russian aggression can and must be defeated by the united free world. And I am grateful to everyone who helps us defend life. I am grateful to everyone who is not allowing this Russian regime to dictate to the world what comes next. Defending people’s lives and the freedom of nations from Putin is an absolutely dignified way to honor the memory of those who did not allow Hitler to subjugate Europe and the world. Eternal gratitude to all who fought against Nazism and liberated people! Blessed memory to all innocent victims of World War II! Glory to every defender of life! Glory to Ukraine!

Als ich heute Morgen die Spiegel-Schlagzeile sah, dachte ich zuerst: gähn. „Russland bildet Hacker aus.“ Wer hätte das gedacht. Der Spiegel hat hier eine Hausaufgabe fürs Fleißkärtchen gemacht, alles aufgeschrieben, was wir sowieso schon wissen, ab in den Druck. Falsch gedacht. Was Spiegel, Le Monde, Guardian, The Insider, Delfi, VSquare und Frontstory da in den letzten Monaten in einem Konsortium ausgewertet haben, sind 2.000 interne Dokumente aus der Moskauer Bauman-Universität. Lehrpläne mit Stundenangaben. Verträge zwischen Dozenten und GRU-Einheiten. Klausuraufgaben („Hacke einen Testserver“). Pflichtseminare („Erstelle ein Social-Video, um ein heißes Thema mit Manipulation und versteckter Propaganda zu promoten oder zu entkräften“). Namenslisten. Notenübersichten. Zuteilung von Praktikumsplätzen. Der Unterschied zu allem, was wir bisher wussten, rangiert in einer ganz neuen Kategorie: Ja, wir wussten, dass Russland einen Cyberkrieg führt. Wir wussten aber nicht, dass es dafür einen sechsjährigen Diplomstudiengang gibt. Mit Abschlusszeugnis. Mit Pflicht-Trainingscamp inklusive Bartrasur und Alkoholverbot. Mit benannten Dozenten, die nebenbei aktive Geheimdienstoffiziere sind. Mit einem geheimen „Lehrstuhl 4“, der in keinem offiziellen Organigramm der Universität auftaucht. Das ist kein „Russland hat Hacker“. Das ist „Russland hat ein Westpoint für hybride Kriegsführung“, mitten in Moskau, vier Kilometer vom Roten Platz entfernt. Was lernen die jungen Leute dort konkret? Der Pflichtkurs „Abwehr technischer Aufklärung“ umfasst 144 Stunden über zwei Semester. Inhalt: Passwortattacken, Ausnutzung bekannter IT-Schwachstellen, Trojaner, praktische Hackingübungen, mit denen die Studierenden in Testsysteme einbrechen müssen, DDoS-Angriffe (das sind die Attacken, mit denen kürzlich die Deutsche-Bahn-App lahmgelegt wurde). Modul 6: „Computerviren und Würmer“. Klausuraufgabe: Hacke einen Testserver. Bestehst du nicht, wirst du kein Diplom-Saboteur. Daneben steht klassische Spionagetechnik: Telefone anzapfen, Richtmikrofone, Wanzendetektion, Überwachung mit hochwertigen Beobachtungsfernrohren von Nikon (eine echte Empfehlung aus den geleakten Folien). Drohnenkunde mit 54 Slides, darunter die „Vector“-Drohne der bayerischen Firma Quantum Systems aus dem Landkreis Starnberg. Also genau das Gerät, das die Ukraine in Massen einsetzt, um russische Stellungen aufzuspüren. Im März 2026 hat der Generalbundesanwalt zwei mutmaßliche russische Agenten festgenommen, die Quantum Systems ausgespäht hatten. Im Auftrag Moskaus, mit Filmaufnahmen vom Arbeitsplatz einer Zielperson. Wer im Bauman-Lehrplan steht, steht auch auf Russlands Liste. Und dann das Pflichtseminar, das einem den Kaffee kalt werden lässt: „Entwickeln einer Propagandakampagne“. Praxisaufgabe wörtlich: „Erstelle ein Social-Video für ein beliebiges Thema, indem du Manipulation, Druck und versteckte Propaganda verwendest, um ein ‚heißes‘ Thema zu promoten oder zu entkräften.“ Eine andere Vorlesung heißt schlicht „Propaganda, Agitation, Manipulation und Überzeugung“. Wer wissen will, wie das Gelernte in der Praxis aussieht, schaut zurück auf den Wahlkampf der letzten Bundestagswahl: Friedrich Merz wurden im Netz psychische Probleme angedichtet, Robert Habeck eine 100-Millionen-Euro-Korruptionsaffäre. Beides war frei erfunden. Beides war keine Improvisation übermütiger Trolle. Es war Lehrstoff. Ausgeführt von Absolventen der Uni für den kleinen James-Bond von Putins Gnaden. Auffällig: Welche fremden Armeen die Studierenden der Bauman-Universität besonders intensiv studieren müssen. Drei. Die russische, die amerikanische – und die deutsche. Bewaffnung der Bundeswehr-Kampfeinheiten. Eigenes Seminar: „Schutz der Informationssicherheit in Deutschland“. Wer geglaubt hat, wir wären zu klein, zu unwichtig, zu unfähig für besondere Aufmerksamkeit, hat sich geirrt. Deutschland ist Hauptfach. Und einer der besten Deutschland-„Experten“ kommt jetzt zu uns. Dank der Rechercher wissen wir, dass er existiert. Wir wissen, dass er in der Spionage-Fakultät ausgebildet wurde. Wir wissen sogar seinen echten Namen. Wir wissen nur nicht, wie er sich in Deutschland präsentieren wird, wann und wo er genau auftauchen wird. Als Phantom kann ihn niemand stoppen: Der junge Mann heißt Iwan Makarow. Er wurde in Moskau geboren, sein Vater wohnt unter derselben Postadresse wie GRU-Einheit 26165 (die Truppe, die 2015 den Bundestag gehackt und Merkels Postfach kopiert hat). Nicht ungewöhnlich, denn Spionage ist bei Russen ein Familiengeschäft – die Nachkommen treten gern in die Fußstapfen der Väter, so werden Loyalitätsfragen geregelt. Im März 2024 hat der russische Staat dem jungen Makarow einen neuen Pass ausgestellt und ihm eine neue Sozialversicherungsnummer gegeben. Sein neuer Name: Mark Fisher. Diese Praxis kennt der Westen seit Sergey Cherkasov, der als „Victor Muller Ferreira“ jahrelang als Brasilianer durch Europa lief, bis er 2022 in den Niederlanden aufflog, als er sich ausgerechnet in Den Haag dort einschleusen wollte, wo russische Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit untersucht werden. Mark Fisher hat seinen Bauman-Abschluss für Hacker mit falscher Identität gerade gemacht. Er ist nicht mehr in Moskau. Er ist irgendwo. Vielleicht in Berlin, vielleicht in München, vielleicht in Frankfurt. Vielleicht ist er der nette Typ, der heute Morgen bei Starbucks neben dir gestanden hat und mit ganz leichtem, charmantem Akzent „a flat white please“ bestellt hat. Vielleicht ist er dein neuer Kollege im IT-Team. Vielleicht hat er dich auf LinkedIn angeschrieben, weil ihn dein Profil so interessiert. Bleibt eine Frage: Glauben die Macher hinter all dem eigentlich selbst an ihre Sache? Eher nicht. Der Mann, der den Lehrstuhl 4 als stellvertretender Leiter prägt, heißt Kirill Stupakow. Er ist Oberstleutnant, Jahrgang 1982. Er hält die Vorlesung über Spionagetechnik und verfügt über einen mustergültigen militärischen Lebenslauf. Denkste! Dem Spiegel ist es gelungen, ihm Telegram-Chats zuzuordnen: Dort nennt Stupakow seinen Präsidenten einen „Opa“. Den ehemaligen Präsidenten Medwedjew einen Alkoholiker. Den russischen Generalstabschef Gerassimow eine „dumme Fotze“. Über den Krieg, in den er seine Studenten Sommer für Sommer verabschiedet, schreibt er: „Wird schlecht für uns enden.“ Und am Montag steht er wieder vor der Klasse und drillt den jungen Männern ein, dass die Ukraine von „Nationalisten und Neonazis“ beherrscht werde, dass die „Spezialoperation unausweichlich“ gewesen sei, dass sie ihre Feinde schlagen sollen wie Väter, Großväter und Urgroßväter. Im täglichen Newsletter, der an der Uni zirkuliert, steht das so. Auf Russisch. Schwarz auf weiß. Das ist die wahre Lehre der Bauman-Files: Autoritäre Apparate funktionieren nicht, weil ihre Funktionäre an die Sache glauben. Sie funktionieren, weil ihre Funktionäre auch dann weitermachen, wenn sie nicht mehr an die Sache glauben. Stupakow hält Putin für einen Greis, Gerassimow für einen Vollidioten und den Krieg für verloren – und schickt trotzdem fünfzehn neue Cyberkrieger pro Jahrgang nach Anapa, Sewastopol, Kursk, irgendwann womöglich auch nach Berlin. Wer geglaubt hat, dieses System bricht zusammen, wenn die Eliten innerlich kündigen, hat den Charakter dieses Systems nicht verstanden. Sie haben längst gekündigt. Sie machen trotzdem weiter. Genau deshalb müssen wir es ernst nehmen.

Egregio Presidente Buttafuoco, Le scrivo perché le Sue recenti dichiarazioni sulla Biennale come "giardino di pace" e spazio di "libertà assoluta" meritano un’analisi che vada oltre la vuota suggestione letteraria, della quale lei è senza dubbio un maestro, per essere semmai confrontate con l’imbarazzante situazione nella quale ha fatto sprofondare la prestigiosa istituzione che presiede. Ci tengo a chiarire che la critica alla riapertura o alla gestione di certi spazi non vuole essere un esercizio di generica censura verso un Paese in guerra. È, al contrario, la denuncia dell’ennesima operazione di influenza culturale da parte di una potenza revisionista ed imperialista che usa proprio l’arte come paravento per colpire valori e principi che sono fuori della portata dei missili e dell’artiglieria. La generica libertà dell’arte non può diventare lo scudo dietro cui si nasconde chi l’arte la piega, la umilia e la trasforma in propaganda di regime. Il passaggio nel quale afferma poeticamente "Noi non abbracciamo le armi", suona quasi paradossale , visto quanto si è speso per la riapertura di un padiglione guidato dalla figlia di Nikolai Volobuyev, vice presidente di Rostec, il più grande conglomerato dell’industria bellica russa, peraltro socia della figlia del Ministro degli Esteri di Mosca Lavorv, rispettivamente esecutore e mandante del tentativo di sterminio del popolo ucraino. Il Suo "giardino di pace" purtroppo non potrà mai essere ammirato dalla scrittrice Victoria Amelina, morta nel luglio 2023 a Kramatorsk a seguito di un attacco con missili Iskander, i cui sistemi di guida sono prodotti proprio da Rostec e nemmeno dal ballerino dell'Opera Nazionale Oleksandr Shapoval o dal poeta Yuriy Ruf, uccisi al fronte da armamenti pesanti, ugualmente realizzati da Rostec, così come nessun altro degli altri 350 artisti assassinati dal regime cui lei ha spalancato i cancelli di uno dei più importanti eventi artistici del mondo, nonostante quello stesso regime si sia reso responsabile anche della distruzione di oltre 1.100 luoghi d’arte e di cultura, tra teatri, musei, biblioteche, chiese e monumenti. Allo stesso modo difficilmente avrà il piacere di incontrare la regista Evgenija Berkovič e la drammaturga Svetlana Petrijčuk entrambe arrestate e processate in Russia per un semplice spettacolo teatrale o gli altri centinaia di attori, cantanti o poeti censurati, arrestati o esiliati, per aver scelto di esercitare proprio quella libertà della quale Lei si erge a paladino, mentre offre legittimazione a chi la nega ad altri. La pace non è un concetto astratto da evocare per difendere scelte indifendibili, ma un processo che richiede disponibilità ai colloqui, aperture ad un cessate il fuoco o almeno il riconoscimento del diritto dell’altro a preservare i propri confini, le proprie libertà e la propria sovranità. Senza questi presupposti, il Suo "pacifismo" diventa solo una zona franca dove si normalizza la cultura della sopraffazione e le società aperte si consegnano a chi vuole distruggerle. La Sua pomposa retorica in questo senso non può essere letta come un legittimo esercizio di tutela dell’autonomia della Biennale, ma come un indecente tentativo di camuffare con eleganti artifici dialettici quello che è a tutti gli effetti un osceno e deliberato atto di complicità. Con il risultato che oggi Lei sta vergognosamente tradendo la sua missione, che è quella di servire un’istituzione che appartiene a noi tutti, non certo di servirsene per rincorrere la Sua distopica visione del mondo. Presidente, l’audacia che Lei chiede agli artisti, manipolando peraltro volgarmente le sagge parole del nostro Presidente della Repubblica, dovrebbe appartenere innanzitutto a chi guida le istituzioni: l'audacia di distinguere tra un dialogo culturale e un'operazione di propaganda travestita da estetica. L’audacia di difendere la sua indipendenza, non già da chi la richiama al rispetto dei valori di libertà, giustizia, autodeterminazione, ma semmai da chi questi principi ha provato a seppellirli nelle fosse comuni a Bucha o sotto le macerie del Teatro di Mariupol. Se proprio vuole che la Sua firma appaia su un documento che il mondo libero possa veramente apprezzare, la apponga su una lettera di scuse verso gli artisti uccisi, arrestati, silenziati o esiliati che, con la sua compiacenza verso il regime russo, ha maldestramente offeso, e magari anche di dimissioni da un’istituzione che non può veder sprofondare 130 anni di storia nella densa melma del collaborazionismo.

The Russians want Ukraine’s permission to hold their parade – so they can safely take to the square for an hour once a year, and then go back to killing *our* people and waging war. The Russians are already talking about strikes after May 9. A strange and certainly twisted logic from the Russian leadership. There are also messages from some states close to Russia that their representatives intend to be in Moscow. An odd desire at a time like this. We do not recommend it.

ZELENSKYY: Russia has fought to the point where its main parade now depends on us. This is a clear signal: it’s time to end this war. Ukraine is ready to work for peace. Russia received clear proposal from us on ceasefire and diplomatic steps, and it knows how to contact Ukraine or its partners to finalize details. However, if that one person in Moscow who cannot live without war is interested only in parade and nothing else, then that's a different matter. I thank everyone who stands with us and with Ukraine. Russia’s return to the Venice Biennale is a disgrace to those who enabled it, in defiance of democratic values, moral responsibility, and principled international response to Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine. Silence and the ignoring of Russia’s crimes in times of war cease to be a position outside politics and instead become a form of complicity. One cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that culture in Russia is inseparable from its militaristic regime. The Russian pavilion at the Biennale, with ties to Russia’s military-industrial complex and political leadership, is further evidence of this. Russian culture at the Venice Biennale is inseparable from Russia’s war crimes, its systematic terror, and its policies aimed at the destruction of Ukraine’s national identity. We are grateful to everyone who supports Ukraine and opposes the normalization of Russia’s war, crimes, and propaganda. On May 4, Ihor from Merefa lost his wife in a missile strike on the city. He and Lyubov had been together for seven years. Overall 7 people were killed in the attack. "My wife left for work, five or ten minutes later — an explosion. I started calling her, but she didn’t answer. I got in the car and drove. At first, I saw many wounded people. I looked around — she wasn’t there. I drove down toward the gas station, thinking maybe she had gone farther. All the while I kept calling. Then I turned back, parked, walked along the path, and that’s when I saw her," Ihor recounted. The couple was raising two children, aged 6 and 16. "She was truly, honestly, the best mother. OTD, 85 years ago, the Soviet commies and German Nazis held a joint parade in Moscow’s Red Square. They were allies who started the deadliest conflict in Europe and elsewhere. Today, the Kremlin is scaling back the usual grandeur of its Victory Day parade, out of concern over potential Ukrainian strikes. Russia is calling for a ceasefire, ostensibly to safeguard its propaganda madness. They have never honoured ceasefires before; therefore, Ukraine should not agree on another one.

On this day 12 years ago. The last pro-Ukrainian demo in Donetsk before Russian occupation. The courage of these people is unparalleled. In the following days some of these people were killed, some beaten, some forced to leave their homes.

Lest we forget. April 24, 2025. While Kyiv slept, a North Korean missile — supplied to russia — killed at least 12 civilians, including children. The world watches in silence. Ukrainians keep dying. Never forget.
