Liberal Democrats are clear: new housing must go hand in hand with new GPs. We will ensure that no community is left overwhelmed.

The Conservatives and Labour have run our NHS into the ground. People can’t see a GP when they need one and it’s only getting worse. We are clear: new housing must go hand in hand with new GPs. We will ensure that no community is left overwhelmed.

Since 2015, GP surgeries have had to serve hundreds more homes each, and over a thousand practices have closed. The result is simple: too many people struggling to get an appointment when they need one. We are calling for a new approach: no doctors, no development. When new homes are built, they must come with new or expanded GP surgeries — properly funded and ready before people move in.

The FCA must investigate whether Farage's plans to cash in on crypto could potentially amount to market abuse and a conflict of interest. We cannot allow political leaders to treat the financial markets like a personal piggy bank to line their own pockets.

We @LibDems are calling on the FCA to investigate whether Farage’s plans to cash in on Crypto could potentially amount to market abuse and a conflict of interest. It raises concerns that Farage could be using the Trump playbook to put his own interests above the public good.

Trump is no friend to the UK — he’s a dangerous, corrupt gangster. The PM must call off the state visit to Washington before it’s too late. @edwardjdavey

Private companies making super-profits from the NHS is an unacceptable waste. That money should go to frontline services, not corporate profits. The NHS should use its buying power to drive down costs, not be taken for a ride.

For years I laid amendments to change the time for victims to ask the Attorney General to review unduly lenient sentences and Tory minister after Tory Minister refused. It was my @LibDems amendment in March that succeeded in the Lords which forced the Gvt change because… 1/2

David Lammy was dragged into this change by victims, campaigners and the Conservatives. Just two weeks ago Labour voted against our amendments to make it easier to challenge sentences. So this is welcome - but Labour need to learn to trust the people. theguardian.com/law/2026/apr/0…
