Layla, una chica mexicana de 15 años, fue engañada por sus amigas de la misma edad con el pretexto de que le tenían preparada una sorpresa.
En cuanto llegó a casa de su amiga, la ataron a una silla, le taparon los ojos y la mataron con una cuerda. Grabaron todo el acto y la enterraron en el patio de la casa.
Tan solo dos días después del incidente, enviaron el vídeo a la familia de Layla, quienes a su vez informaron a la policía, y sus amigos fueron arrestados.
Durante la investigación, confesaron que el móvil fue la envidia y la rivalidad por un joven. Una de sus amigas fue condenada a dos años de prisión, y la otra a solo once meses, ya que ambas eran menores de edad.
Su familia recibió una indemnización de 250 dólares, pero rechazaron el pago, considerándolo un insulto.
