Earlier today, on my orders, the Nigerian armed forces stood gallantly as a defender and protector of constitutional order in the Republic of Benin on the invitation of the government. Our armed forces acted within the ambit of the ECOWAS @ecowas_cedeao Protocol on Democracy and Good Governance. They have helped stabilise a neighbouring country and have made us proud of their commitment to sustaining our democratic values and ideals since 1999. Nigeria stands firmly with the government and people of the Republic of Benin. ~ PBAT

Nigeria is Africa’s biggest nation and America knows this. Nigeria aligning with BRICS was a major source of concern to America. Like that is not enough, Nigeria bluntly refused the dumping of deportees on its soil from the “Almighty America” and called America’s bluff on its tariff without panicking or sending a delegation to plead with Trump. The American propaganda is clear. Incite religious tensions, destabilize Nigeria from within and then wait so we come back to beg for America’s assistance. It is a bully’s playbook. Nothing new! We need to never stop countering with the facts!

Nigeria stands firmly as a democracy governed by constitutional guarantees of religious liberty. Since 2023, our administration has maintained an open and active engagement with Christian and Muslim leaders alike and continues to address security challenges which affect citizens across faiths and regions. The characterisation of Nigeria as religiously intolerant does not reflect our national reality, nor does it take into consideration the consistent and sincere efforts of the government to safeguard freedom of religion and beliefs for all Nigerians. Religious freedom and tolerance have been a core tenet of our collective identity and shall always remain so. Nigeria opposes religious persecution and does not encourage it. Nigeria is a country with constitutional guarantees to protect citizens of all faiths. Our administration is committed to working with the United States government and the international community to deepen understanding and cooperation on protection of communities of all faiths. Nigeria is sovereign nation, Any invasion of Nigeria by any nation is an occupation and it violates UN charter. LET THAT BE CLEAR

This is how it will play out if these clowns actually follow through with the threat. They will fly in and continuously carpet bomb everywhere identified as a terrorist hideout, not distinguishing between innocent and criminals, or Christian from Muslim. Like Gaza, they will level major cities in the North into rubble. This will create a swarm of refugees that will overwhelm governance systems - assuming any national government infrastructure still exists. The ripple effects of these will spread across West Africa and even Southern Nigeria will become overwhelmed by an influx of people. After the bombing stops and the Americans move on, the real terrorists who would have hidden in the Sahel countries throughout will come back into what remains of Northern Nigeria and form strongholds and local governments. In a short time, the US govt will unofficially recognise these Muslim warlords as legitimate govts and start collaborating with them for mining and other local resource rights. And the rest of the world will forget all these started with saving Christians and move on.
