Kiyan Pirfalak was a bright nine-year-old Iranian boy killed on November 16, 2022, in Izeh during the Mahsa Amini protest crackdown. He dreamed of becoming a robotics engineer and inventor, often showing off creative science projects like a toy boat in videos. While riding home in the family car with his father Meysam and younger brother, security forces opened fire on their vehicle. Kiyan was shot in the chest and died at the scene; he was among several killed that night in Izeh. His family blamed government security forces, rejecting official narratives that pinned it on protesters or others. The incident became a symbol of the regime's brutality against civilians. His mother, Zeinab (Mahmonir) Molaei-Rad, spoke out at the funeral, leading to her job loss as a teacher and ongoing family harassment.Meysam Pirfalak, Kiyan’s father, was critically wounded by multiple bullets in the back during the same shooting and rushed to hospital in serious condition. He spent weeks in a coma and underwent surgeries, remaining unaware of his son’s death for about 38 days. The family hid the news of Kiyan's death from Meysam while he was in critical condition in the hospital. In a widely shared video, when Meysam finally learned that his nine-year-old son was killed, he broke down in uncontrollable tears and grief on his hospital bed. He cried bitterly, expressing deep pain and disbelief over losing Kiyan. Family members and videos captured his raw emotional reaction, showing him overwhelmed with sorrow while still recovering from serious injuries. This moment highlighted the family's immense suffering amid the crackdown. Meysam later continued seeking justice despite paralysis and ongoing threats. This heartbreaking tragedy is just one fraction of the countless innocent lives — including many children — destroyed by the Islamic Republic’s brutal crackdown on the Iranian people. This murderous regime that shoots at families and silences grieving parents must be destroyed so no more Kiyans are lost.

It is hundreds of billions, most likely trillions, over 47 years. This is just one known example of systemic, large-scale theft.
