@GerryHassan @schug67 The league runs for 38 games. Each carries the same rewards. You can’t isolate 2 games and be relevant. There were plenty up mistakes across all games, many of which Hearts benefited from. Do a full 38 game week analysis and get back to me.

Moreover, and quite remarkably, the points attained from a win or a draw are exactly the same in each round of games.

Andrew Dallas should be removed immediately for seeing things that don't exist, and John Beaton similarly for not having the backbone to stick with his original decision, using Dallas as an excuse note. @Celticcurio I was at the 65 semi v Motherwell. 2-2 and Joe McBride left me distraught. We hadn’t won anything in 8 yrs and he got both the Well goals. I wasn’t able to go to the replay or the final, but I can still see that photo of Cesar towering over Lennox after Gallaghers corner. 🍀💚

What is your earliest memory of Celtic in a Scottish Cup Final and what age were you at the time? 1985 - 2-1 win against Dundee Utd (aged 6) I vividly remember watching this on the TV. It was on the same day as my big sisters Holy Communion. My dad and Uncles went to the match.

Can we just take a moment to discuss Martin O’Neill’s absolute tactical masterclass on Saturday? He allowed Derek McInnes to play all of his cards before finally unleashing the famous 3-5-2 formation on the final day to ultimately WIN the league. Nobody expected it. The fans didn’t expect it, the media didn’t expect it and I’m pretty sure Derek McInnes certainly didn’t expect it either. Martin hadn’t trialled it previously. He hadn’t experimented with different systems beforehand and repeatedly said he didn’t want to overcomplicate things and wanted to keep it simple. Then when it mattered most he revealed Plan B. And it paid off massively. The man is an absolute genius. One of the greatest football minds this club has ever seen 🍀

@maroonajambo Coping with European football alongside week in week out domestic football will represent the toughest step up Hearts will face next year. Dont underestimate the demands that puts on a squad.

Add to this, we’ve accumulated our largest ever points total and still been pipped at the post. 5 wins,only lost twice to teams from Glasgow. The perceived wisdom is that both will be better next year. Let’s you see the enormity of the challenge ahead 🇱🇻

The turning point in Celtic's run to the title for me was the 4 goals in 6 minutes in the Scottish Cup semi-final in extra time against St Mirren. It was as if something just clicked in the team at that point, almost like they scored 4 goals and thought "What? We're allowed to do this?"

Woke up on Sunday morning to see that my prediction (Celtic will get a penalty, a dodgy goal and end of game chaos) was 100% correct. The second goal was offside - the player who was offside eventually scored...how is that not interfering with play? But then its Celtic rules and Celtic time....the Old Firm have corrupted Scottish football....

@jhnmcgnly @BillyO1967 Thanks John. This is thoughtful and goes against the emotional response of so many. Emotions are what make football. We are invested, and as a result see what our emotions tell us to look for. That can be the only reason why one incident can generate such polar opposites views.

🤓 Reflections on last night's Celtic penalty. I'm not trying to convince anyone, really, more laying out an alternative viewpoint amongst what I consider to be pretty absurd hysteria. There are also some mistruths about the VAR process being portrayed as neutral objectivity that I think deserve to be challenged. Does the ball hit his arm? For me, the footage shows this. Is his arm in an unnatural position and making his body bigger? It's above shoulder height and in front of his head. The ball strikes his arm before his head. Personally, I don't feel his arm being there is justified by his body movement. Intent is irrelevant. Is it a clear and obvious error? There's a popular misconception there has to have been a 'clear and obvious error' for VAR to recommend a VAR review. Per the IFAB guidance, this is not true. A referee can also be called to the monitor if they communicate to the VAR that they haven't seen or made a decision on an incident VAR has flagged as a potential penalty. This is called a 'serious missed incident'. I think, until the audio is released, it's reasonable to assume John Beaton did not rule on whether it was a handball or not before the review, so 'clear and obvious error' would not apply. He didn't have to make a decision on allowing play to continue because the ball almost immediately went out of play and he was told to delay. It's fair to surmise that Dallas' only role was flagging to Beaton there was a potential handball, not suggesting he had made a grave error. IFAB guidance also makes clear that for subjective decisions, including handball considerations, a pitchside review is appropriate. Beaton approached the monitor and made a decision on the evidence available to him. Taking all of this into consideration, even if you feel it wasn't a penalty, I am struggling to comprehend the outrage as if this were either the most corrupt decision in the history of Scottish football or the 'worst VAR decision' in history. I feel there's been a lack of balance or relevant knowledge on broadcasts. I think mainstream pundits suggesting there is a pattern of assistance for Celtic in this title race is hysterical nonsense that is ordinarily mocked by most in less tense times. For the record, and I know this goes against many Celtic fans, I don't believe any club feels the benefit of biased refereeing. I think referees in this country are generally poor and lack consistency and I think the version of VAR that we have in Scottish football is fundamentally flawed because of cheap infrastructure. Going back to the penalty itself, the biggest point of contention would be on the concept of his body being 'unnaturally bigger'. In this case I feel the decision could really go either way depending on the viewpoint of the referee. I don't think it's massively egregious to say it is a penalty. It can be 'harsh', 'unlucky' and 'soft' and still be a reasonable conclusion for the referee to award a penalty. Or at least be reasonable enough not to suggest it is a 'worldwide' embarrassment and/or cheating. I'm not entirely ignorant of my own bias. I fully understand it's easier to go 'well, what's the big deal here?' when the decision goes in favour of the team you support and professionally cover. It's going to generate noise, I get that. Yet, there's something uneasy about the fervour with which this is being labelled as objectively a 'disgusting' crime against Hearts and their title bid. Celtic have earned 19 points with goals scored after the 80th minute this season. They're finding a way. It might be enough. Rage on!

It’s 14 days after the game in which the threshold is reached when the ban starts. Red card bans are immediate. So yellow shouldn’t matter.

@meljomur Independence is about nation building. The first few years will be critical. Designing institutions, negotiating settlements with rUK, and trying to bring people together. As it stands that would fall to SNP. Who among them has the vision, courage or leadership to deliver this?

Here’s the thing, the SNP are largely irrelevant once Scotland becomes independent. So once we’re independent and there are new elections shortly afterwards, this scenario is unlikely.
