There are two groups of people upset at Stellar Blade: Blood Rain's new protagonist's design. The LGBTQIA+ alphabet mafia, and the Antis. Tomboys have practically disappeared in the West, when they were far more common in the 80's and 90's. A lot of them were "reformed" into lesbians or transsexuals in the West. "Youthful" is seen as a patriarchal ageist and anti-progress anathema for many of the modern feminists. Evie is basically peak unapologetic femininity... where she is cute, petite, deadly, and designed to be appealing. That is basically hate speech, according to the alphabet mafia. The Antis are also overly preoccupied with depictions of youth and young characters, and "pedobait" in anything that isn't a 35 year old foid... They hate Evie's depiction as well, as they see a "child" in the face of a youthful adult asian face. This "style" is very common in East Asia, and it shows up frequently in K-pop, asian dramas, or even on just random asian instagram profiles. Combined with the reality that asians age more slowly, a lot of ignorant Westerners end up having a freakout when they see a youthful depiction of a asian face. The design is obviously popular. Just even a surface-level search, and there are tons of cosplays and R34 art that have exploded on the internet. The haters can cope and seethe

The discourse surrounding Evie is incredibly ridiculous. It’s fine if you don’t like the direction Stellar Blade is heading. It’s fine if you miss Eve. It’s fine to have healthy disagreements but to disingenuously suggest that Stellar Blade is Promoting Children as the PROTAGONIST when they clearly don’t look, act or even replicate a child in any way or capacity is fucking diabolical. It’s as always a small minority that are making these complaints. It’s being received well worldwide and people are actually excited for this new experience. The only complaints that are acceptable about this game is the fact the skin suit seems less bold, including the opening outfit from the original skin suit which displayed damn near a naked body of Eve. I’m only worried that they are toning down outfits to avoid backlash but I never thought most discourse would be about westerners not understand how Asians or even adult women look. WOMEN aren’t suppose to look like MEN. They are SHORT. Some have small faces, specially eastern women and eastern women have younger, more youthful appearances. I know these character is made to look younger as well from the creator but it doesn’t mean she’s a child. It doesn’t mean she looks like a child attached with an adult body. It means she’s younger, closer to Lily but more mature from the previous game who by all means seems damn near child-like herself by these people standards but is clearly just a petite woman. It’s just fake discourse to either ruin Stellar Blade and Shift Up as a whole or it’s to boosts their engagement. That’s all this is and it’s ridiculous. If this continue, we will not have games like Stellar Blade in the future because everyone, even their own “fans” will attack it. Let’s stop calling Asian Women Children. It’s Disgusting and Disturbing.

Evie will never reach EVE as a character, I can already tell. EVE and Stellar Blade 1 will NEVER be reached from Blood Rain. Yes, that trailer was enough to understand it. Evie is generic and boring. EVE is one of the best female character to ever exist.

Hablando de Stellar Blade Blood Rain, yo pienso que la gente que se cree que Evie es menor deberían al menos hacer una visita a Corea (el bueno DX) o Japón, como mínimo para si quiera opinar, todas las veces que estuve en Japón me sentía ALTA! yo con mi potente 1 metro 58cm! Sumado a que muchas japonesas llevan alzas y ya no solo eso, muchas tienden a usar un maquillaje para verse más juveniles, de verdad que es un debate sin sentido (−＿−；)

People say the new Stellar Blade female lead looks like a child. My take is that on most parts of the trailer she does not, she just looks like a young woman in her early 20s. In some shots however, such as the top left one here she does look like a child in the face. Is that just a cut scene though (?) Bottom left could be a teen or a young Japanese or Korean woman in her 20s. (Yes they look like that) But full body shots there is no way she is a child, she has curves. That's my take. Moral of the story, I liked Eve more but I'll still be looking forward to the game. I don't see any major issue here.

So, I have to strongly disagree. Evie is not a “tomboy who appears clearly underage.” She’s a sharp, athletic grown woman with mature proportions. This is the same exact complaint people made about Eve when Stellar Blade launched. Now they’re recycling it with Evie. Zooming in on one face shot while ignoring the full body is pure cherry-picking. Asian genetics are different. Youthful delicate features on adult women are completely normal. I don’t see a child. I see a grown, stylized Asian woman with sharp, attractive features and mature proportions. Another L take here.
