They specialize in amplifying every grievance, no matter how petty, into international headlines: a bad Google review, a bounced cheque, a business dispute, or deleted footage of regional missile interceptions suddenly becomes "proof" of systemic tyranny. Stirling and her team flood Western media with horror stories claiming the UAE's legal system is uniquely barbaric: cybercrime laws are "nightmares" that jail people for private Facebook posts or honest reviews, prisons are "Gulags", every arrest is "arbitrary detention" or "extortion." They ignore that many cases involve genuine crimes (fraud, debt default, slander, or spreading unverified war footage during security crises), that the UAE has cracked down on money laundering and financial abuse, and that thousands of foreigners live and work there successfully every year. Not to mention the fact that they ignore the fact that all of the things they try to paint Dubai as are much more true for London.
