An “unnamed senior Iranian official” who met Henry Kissinger in 2015 held a PhD in Western Philosophy from the University of Tehran and published several books (mostly in Persian/Farsi) examining Kantian thought, including: 🔹 The Mathematical Method in Kant's Philosophy (روش ریاضی در فلسفه کانت): An exploration of Kantian epistemology and the role of mathematics in his philosophical system. 🔹Metaphysics and the Exact Sciences in Kant's Philosophy (متافیزیک و علوم دقیقه در فلسفه کانت): A study on the relationship between Kant's metaphysical theories and scientific principles. 🔹Intuition and Synthetic A Priori Judgments in Kant's Philosophy (شهود و قضایای تألیفی ماتقدم در فلسفه کانت): An analysis of one of the core concepts in Kant’s Critique of Pure Reason. 🔹Critique and Examination of Descartes’ Epistemology: A work analyzing the foundational principles of Rene Descartes. He also wrote extensively on other analytical philosophers, including Saul Kripke and David Lewis.  ▪️Beyond pure philosophy, he published essays and reflections on governance and Iranian society:   His latest book was Reason and Tranquility in Governance (عقل و سکون در حکمرانی): A 2024 publication focusing on political philosophy and statecraft. Ali Larijani was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the night of March 16–17, 2026, at his daughter’s home in the Pardis district of Tehran, alongside his son Morteza Larijani, his chief of staff Alireza Bayat, and several bodyguards. If Prof Marandi @s_m_marandi was an academic/ got his PhD outside Iran, he would have lost his job, ostracised, lost whatever funding he had & his PhD demonised, his Alma mater would put out a statement against him. Luckily, he is academic in Uni of Tehran, a top 2.5% University.
