PAC MEDIA STATEMENT. The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) notes the address by President Cyril Ramaphosa regarding the recent Constitutional Court judgment on the Section 89 impeachment process. The judgment has made it clear that the parliamentary process must proceed in accordance with the Constitution and the rules of Parliament. Whilst the President has every right to approach the courts for a review, the PAC believes that Parliament must equally be allowed to execute its constitutional responsibilities without political interference or delay. South Africa’s democracy is strengthened when institutions are allowed to function independently, transparently and without fear or favour. The PAC will participate in all parliamentary processes guided by the Constitution, the rule of law and the interests of the people of South Africa.
