I am a white individual. My stepfather, who is Pakistani, was one of my abusers and the main reason my white mother married him was to keep him in the country. My biological father, who is white, left before I was born, and I have never been able to find him. The abuse began when I was 11, perpetrated by my former Pakistani stepfather and his 19-year-old son, my former stepbrother. I experienced various forms of abuse, including sexual abuse, torture, and rape, by those two and few of their friends repeatedly until I was 22, which is when my mother passed away from cancer. Both my former stepfather and stepbrother have been deported, while other abusers remained in the UK and did not continue to harm me. Before the abuse started my former stepfather did treated me kindly, bought me gifts and gave me money, which made me feel like his daughter. I trusted him, as he seemed to wanted a father-daughter relationship, but then he changed drastically and became abusive. My mother told me the reason why she didn't protect me from them, it's because she was scared of them. I won't go in to details they have done to me, it's too painful for me to share.
