@nimoompkh The historical sources don’t say the divorce happened because of the Prophet’s feelings. In fact, the Qur’an and early Islamic reports mention that he told Zayd to keep his wife and remain married.

@nimoompkh I think that’s a misunderstanding of the story. Islamic sources say that the Prophet Muhammad pbuh did not marry Zaynab because of a hidden desire. She was already married to his adopted son, and when that marriage was failing, he actually advised them to stay together.

@nimoompkh It’s fair to question the story, but saying “Allah told him not to hide his desires” isn’t what the passage says. The traditional interpretation is that he was concerned about public criticism, not that he was being encouraged to pursue a personal desire.
