In as much as I agree with not accepting meagre salaries, we also need to factor in reality.
Except you have a Dad, or sponsor giving you a substantial amount to cover needs, then it's best you take the job.
I remember when everything was bleak circa 2018, I dusted my shoes and went straight to one of those mini schools in my area.
Pay was 5k, but it was better than not having anything and drinking garri without sugar. (Plus being idle)
I worked for 8 months with no pay in that place btw, then I got another part time job as a Chemistry, biology and physics teacher for just 10k per month.
Since the pay was meagre, I added home lessons to it, I would work from 7am to 8pm, I wished I still had access to my old phone, I looked like a twig, (my main food was two super bites and 1 Pepsi, 200Naira😭😂).
It's funny now, but it wasn't then, you could see my visible waist line.
Anyways, I left the second school due to another issue (story for another day), and I didn't receive my last salary as well, to top it all, one of my home school tutoring parent's threw money on the floor for me to pick (after I continuously requested for my money) plus few insults.
I can never forget, it was #500 , With tears swelling in my eyes, I picked it up and never looked back,
I went back to being jobless for a while, then I got into another school, pay this time was 16,500
Transport to and from was #300 daily, plus a little trekking.
Sometimes I wouldn't be able to eat, I fell into debt to be able to eat, I couldn't buy new clothes, but at least I had something doing .
It was during this time I borrowed money to get my phone then, an infinix s5, I had always wanted to learn web development but I didn't have a laptop.
Still I would uwrite codes on paper, borrow laptops, and then finally, I dabbled into crypto, lost money, put some again from my salary that wasn't enough into ponzi scheme, lost it again, bought a course on fiver freelancing for 10k, no laptop to implement, left it alone,
At some point I just wanted to accept my reality but deep down I knew I was destined for more.
I later ended up saving up to 35k, got a course on digital marketing, and that was the turning point for me.
I got exposed to ALOT of information and met wonderful people, read books that changed my financial lense and mindset and by mid 2022, I finally quit my job, had stack enough to last me for 6 months and focused on building online.
I'm not where I want to be right now, but looking back, I've come a long way.
I own my company @BcubeDigitals with staffs, worked with clients across the globe, I'm currently co founding 2 startups, and I earn 7 figures consistently .
One day I spent 65,000 naira on food alone(with my family) and my mind briskly recalled those days, I just smiled and said Alhamdullilah.
If you read to this extent, here's my advice (especially if this resonates with your current situation)
1. Know that you need compromise to move on to the next level, it's going to be very hard, but you gotta compromise.
2. Tell yourself the truth, understand your why, and know what you want, it would make it easier to take to decisions.
3. Read the richest man in Babylon, it would help you plan your finances properly, even with 100k monthly.
4. A Man's dignity lies in being able to cater for himself. Half bread is better than none.
5. Cut out excessive spending, don't eat out, buy food in bulk, stay with your parents,(if possible) and stack up aggressively.
6. Have a clear mental image and time line for yourself, you don't want to be stuck earning that for years.
7. Be disciplined, You can't be consistent if you're not disciplined .
8. Invest in upskilling, the hard truth is that you currently might not have the necessary KNOWLEDGE needed to help you start earning above 100k.
9. Think positively, keep your head high, Be proud of yourself, it's indeed not easy, but you're trying.
10. Go back to God.
I wish you the best, shalom.

9-5 for 100k? You better stay at home. 3k on feeding daily for 30 days = 90k. I never even calculate transport fare! Mtcheww 💔
