SOMALILAND DOES NOT STAND ALONE TODAY!! The Republic of Somaliland is a nation forged through sacrifice, resilience, perseverance, and unwavering determination. It is a country built by the devotion of its people whose patriotism, love of country, and commitment to self-governance run deep within their hearts and minds. Somaliland has been blessed with leaders of conscience, wisdom, and integrity who have consistently placed the interests of their people above all else, guiding the nation with prudence, responsibility, and a clear sense of purpose. The Republic of Somaliland harbors no ambitions against any other nation. It seeks neither conflict nor confrontation. Instead, it has chosen the path of peace, mutual respect, and good neighborliness with all countries in the region. The people of Somaliland are more than capable of defending their homeland. Moreover, SOMALILAND DOES NOT STAND ALONE TODAY!!

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 (𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚 (𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬): 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫!! For more than thirty-five years, the Republic of Somaliland has demonstrated to the world that peace, stability, democratic governance, and functioning state institutions can be built and sustained through the will and determination of its people. In stark contrast, Somalia to date continues to grapple with insecurity, terrorism, political instability, displacement, and recurring conflict. This raises a profound and unavoidable moral question: What truly defines a state in the eyes of the international community? Is it a society that has successfully established peace, conducted democratic elections, maintained security, and built accountable institutions? Or is it one that remains trapped in cycles of violence, instability, and humanitarian crises? The answer to this question remains one of the great contradictions of contemporary international politics. It is worth reflecting on the fact that the U.S. Deputy Ambassador H.E. Justin Davis visited yesterday morning to a country that enjoys peace, stability, and order: The Republic of Somaliland. He then returned yesterday afternoon to a country plagued by conflict, bloodshed, and widespread displacement (Somalia), where even diplomatic movement remains heavily restricted beyond the secure perimeter of the Halane compound. #Somaliland #Recognition #Democracy #Peace #Statehood

For 35 years, the Republic of Somaliland faced political isolation, economic exclusion, and diplomatic silence from much of the international community; including those who speak in the name of Islamic and Arab countries as well as African nations. When Somaliland’s greatest aspiration was recognition of its legitimate sovereignty and democratic existence, the State of Israel responded with daringly & decisively, with political courage and historic clarity by granting full recognition to the Republic of Somaliland on 26 December 2025. Somaliland’s sovereignty, independence, and pursuit of international recognition are fundamental national and human rights belonging to the noble people of the Republic of Somaliland; a right that no individual, institution, internal or external forces can deny, obstruct or reverse. Those currently opposing Somaliland’s decision to open its Embassy in Qudus are, in reality, opposing Somaliland’s existence and fundamental sovereign rights of it's people, its national interests, and future progress.

Siyaasadda Arrimaha Dibedda ee Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland waxa ay ku salaysan tahay dano-wadaag la jaan-qaadaya isbeddellada waqtigan xaadirka ah ka socda Dunida. Xaqiiqada maanta Dunida ka jirtaana waxa ay meesha ka saartay Axdiyadii iyo Heshiisyadii Caalamiga ahaa iyo Nidaamyadii lagu dhaqmi jiray ee lagu kala hagi jiray dalalka Dunida. Danaha iyo maslaxadaha la kala riixanayo ee uu dal walba leeyahay ayaa haatan halbeeg u ah yoolasha istaraatiijiyadeed, kuwa amni iyo kuwa dhaqaale ee Qaran kasta, kuwaasi oo ka xoog batay nidaamkii soo jireenka ahaa ee Dunida ka jiray. Haddaba, 35 sano oo ay JSL ku jirtay cadaadis, go'doon iyo cuna qabatayn; 35 sano oo dalka iyo dadka Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland lagu xeerin waayay muslimnimo iyo bini’aadannimo midnaba, waxa ka jawaabay Dawladda Dalka Israa’iil oo 26.12.2025 Somaliland siisay aqoonsi buuxa. Dadka maanta diiddan in Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland ay Safaaraddeeda Israa’iil ka furato Magaalada Qudus, waa kuwo ka soo horjeeda jiritaanka iyo horusocodka Jamhuuriyadda Somaliland.

𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐒𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: In today’s world, nations are not defined solely by religion, ethnicity, geography, or culture. They are defined by interests, partnerships, and strategic cooperation. For 35 years, the Republic of Somaliland was denied recognition, isolated politically, and excluded diplomatically by institutions that claim to defend justice, self-determination, human dignity, African solidarity, and Islamic brotherhood; including the African Union, United Nations, Arab League, and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. For 35 years, Somaliland built peace, democracy, stability, and functioning state institutions without international recognition, while much of the world remained silent. Now, if the State of Israel has chosen to recognize Somaliland and engage with it based on mutual interests and cooperation, by what moral or legal authority can others object to the sovereign choices of the Somaliland people? Any attempt to oppose Somaliland’s legitimate recognition and international partnerships ultimately serves those enemies who seek to undermine the sovereignty, stability, and future of the Republic of Somaliland; whether such opposition comes from within our country or beyond it.

On the 35th Anniversary of Somaliland’s Restoration of Sovereignty, millions of Somalilanders, both at home and across the diaspora, commemorated May 18 with extraordinary pride and solidarity, demonstrating that Somaliland’s sovereignty is not merely a political aspiration, but a deeply held national conviction shared collectively by its people. With delegations from over 25 countries joining the historic May 18 celebrations, the Republic of Somaliland demonstrated its growing diplomatic relevance and international credibility. This year’s commemoration also coincided with a major diplomatic milestone, as the President of the State of Israel received the credentials of Somaliland’s first Extraordinary Ambassador accredited to a recognized sovereign state; a powerful symbol of Somaliland’s expanding global engagement and irreversible march toward international recognition. To the friends of Somaliland: we are a very grateful nation that never forgets those who stand with us. To the enemies of Somaliland: history is moving forward; and there is nothing you can do to stop it!!

Thirty-five years later, the struggle and sacrifice of the people of Republic of Somaliland stand at a historic and remarkable height that history itself will long remember. The Republic of Somaliland today is no longer a nation waiting for others to determine its destiny; it is a RECOGNIZED STATE that has demonstrated that the will of its people, peace, democracy, and responsible statehood are far stronger than CONFLICT, BLOODSHED, POLITICAL INSTABILITY, and the despair that emerges when the citizens lose faith in their government that neither respects their own people nor upholds the dignity of their constitution in the eyes of the world. Today, Somalilanders at home and abroad are celebrating a nation built through sacrifice, resilience, patience, determination, patriotism, and genuine national devotion. It is a country shaped by principled and seasoned leaders with dignity & dignity, and a political culture that has consistently sought to place the interests of its people and nation above all else. The story of The Republic of Somaliland is ultimately a testament to what a united, determined, and peace-loving people can achieve when guided by vision, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to their national destiny. Happy 18th of May to my all beloved citizens and friends of the Republic of Somaliland.

A CALL FOR INTERNATIONAL REASSESSMENT ON SOMALIA AND RECOGNITION OF SOMALILAND! The international community, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom, must recognize that Somalia’s political crisis has entered a dangerous phase marked by contested legitimacy, growing instability, and increasing authoritarian tendencies. There are rising concerns over political intimidation, institutional collapse, and expanding foreign influence within Somalia, from actors pursuing strategic and economic interests. In particular, Turkey behaves as the NEW COLONIAL POWER OF SOMALIA!! In response, the international community should consider targeted sanctions, travel restrictions, asset freezes, and a reassessment of current security framework and partnerships with Somalia. It should also explore renewed United Nations-led international stewardship to prevent further destabilization, by recalling the important international role that existed during the UN-administered transitional /TRUSTEESHIP period of the 1950s in Somalia Italiana. At the same time, the world should give serious consideration to recognizing the Republic of Somaliland: a peaceful, democratic, and stable nation whose recognition would strengthen regional stability, democratic accountability, and long-term security in the Horn of Africa. Time for a new International policy approach on Somaliland and Somalia!!

The sacrifice, endurance and selfless patriotism of Somalilanders at home and abroad, is what has brought us to where we are today and who we are as a nation. However, the road ahead and the challenges we are facing at the moment will demand a lot effort and vigilance from everyone of us! I am very confident that our resilient people are up to task. May Allah bless and protect the Republic of Somaliland

Power in conflict resolutions, peace-building from grassroots, nation-building, patriotism, political consensus, and the unwavering belief that the interests of the people and the country must always prevail over personal ambition or political gain; these are the noble values and defining characteristics for which the people of the Republic of Somaliland are known for decades. Whenever political disagreements arise, Somaliland’s political leaders have consistently demonstrated restraint, wisdom, and a deep sense of responsibility toward their people and country. They are statesmen who understand that genuine leadership is measured not by how fiercely one clings to power, but by one’s willingness to sacrifice personal interests for the greater good of the nation. Their patriotism is rooted in compassion for their people, loyalty to their homeland, and an enduring commitment to peace and stability. What is unfolding today in Mogadishu stands as a painful illustration of the political recklessness, short-sightedness, and self-interest that continue to plague Somalia’s political culture: A culture too often driven by the mentality of “what benefits me personally,” regardless of the consequences for the nation or its people. Intellectually, morally, politically, and humanely, this is the profound difference between Republic of Somaliland and Somalia. May Allah forever protect the Republic of Somaliland.

SOMALILAND: RECOGNITION AND RESILIENCE On the 35th Anniversary of 18 May, 2026 our national theme “RECOGNITION and RESILIENCE” captures the very essence of Somaliland’s journey towards independence and statehood. #RECOGNITION is not merely sought; it is earned through the unwavering #RESILIENCE, unity, progress and determination of our people. For over three decades, The Republic of Somaliland has stood as a testament to peace, democratic governance, and self-reliance in a complex and volatile region. This year's theme is a message to the world: Somaliland’s quest for recognition is grounded in legitimacy, built by its people, and sustained by their enduring strength. Our resilience is our foundation and our future. #AQOONSI IYO #ADKAYSI SHACAB

The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Irro) delivered today his Annual Constitutional Address to the Joint Session of Somaliland Parliament; setting out a clear, forward-looking vision for the people and country of the Republic of Somaliland. The speech was a powerful call for unity, self-reliance, and collective responsibility, reaffirming that our stability, democratic governance, progress, and sovereignty depend on our shared commitment as one nation. The President’s message was clear: STRENGTHEN OUR INSTITUTIONS, ADVANCE OUR ECONOMIC RESILIENCE, AND ACCELERATE THE PATH TOWARD FULL INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION. To the Government in Mogadishu, the President of the Republic of Somaliland reiterated with clarity and conviction that the sovereignty & independence of the Republic of Somaliland has reached a point of no return!! The only viable and constructive path forward lies in the establishment of peaceful relations between two neighbouring states, not rhetoric, hostility, resentment, and grievance, used as justification by a leader who has failed to bring peace to his people for over 34 years. #Somaliland

A New World Order is Emerging, and it runs through the Red Sea! The outbreak of the Iranian conflict on February 28, 2026, has pushed the international system into a far more volatile & unpredictable phase, dismantling the fragile status quo that once underpinned global stability. What was widely expected to be a short-lived confrontation has instead evolved into a protracted crisis, one that is actively reshaping the Geopolitical Order. Traditional alliances (most notably NATO) are showing signs of strain, as internal divisions and competing national interests weaken cohesion. In their place, more fluid and transactional alignments are emerging, driven not by ideology but by strategic necessity and self-interest. At its core, this is not a war of ideological doctrine, but a contest for geostrategic advantage, economic influence, and control over critical maritime chokepoints. Power in this emerging order will belong to those who can secure the world’s key trade arteries, including the Persian Gulf (Strait of Hormuz), the Gulf of Berbera /Aden, the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab, Trade Straits in South-East Asia and elsewhere. Within this shifting geopolitical landscape, the conflict has cast a clear spotlight on the strategic significance of the Republic of Somaliland. Positioned along one of the world’s most vital Maritime Corridors, the Republic of Somaliland is increasingly seen as a pivotal actor in safeguarding global trade flows and regional security. In this new era, strategic relevance is defined less by formal recognition and more by geopolitical utility; and in that regard, Somaliland’s importance is becoming ever more clearer. Strategic location is power and Somaliland has it!

I wish to express my sincere and profound gratitude to Congressman John W. Rose and his colleagues for introducing the draft legislation H.R. 7993 (The Somaliland Economy Access and Opportunity Act) before the United States Congress. For 35 years, Somaliland has been unfairly locked out of global financial systems, despite its stability, democratic credentials, and strategic importance. THIS BILL IS A GAME CHANGER!! It opens the door for Somaliland to access international banking, attract investment, and fully participate in the global economy. More than that, it sends a clear signal: Somaliland can no longer be ignored. This is not just economic progress; it is a strategic step forward in Somaliland’s rightful place in the world. This proposed legislation represents a significant and forward-looking shift. It signals a growing recognition within key international policy circles that Somaliland’s economic inclusion is not only justified, but necessary.

Israel’s recognition of the Republic of Somaliland on 26 December 2025 was not merely symbolic; it reflects geo-strategic reality in the Horn of Africa!! For Somaliland, recognition enhances international standing and opens expanded cooperation in trade, technology, energy, water, agriculture, and regional security. For Israel, Somaliland offers partnership along one of the world’s most vital maritime corridors, strengthened security cooperation, and deeper diplomatic engagement in the Horn of Africa. This is a reciprocal, interest-based partnership grounded in stability, sovereignty, and shared strategic vision in a geopolitically significant region. #Somaliland #Isreal

The young generation of the Republic of Somaliland (those born in 1991 and thereafter) are children of freedom. They have never lived under a Somali flag, nor have they known governance from Mogadishu. For them, the notion of “Somali unity” is not a lived reality, but a distant, absurd and failed experiment of the past. They are the heirs of a nation that their forefathers liberated through immeasurable sacrifice, blood, and selflessness. They came of age in a hard-won sovereignty, raised in a nation rebuilt by the sacrifice and resilience of its own people. As such, Somaliland’s young people are not merely citizens; they are the guardians and driving force of its existence, statehood, and independence. The future of the Republic rests in their conviction that Somaliland’s path is not backward to a troubled union with a failed state of Somalia, but forward-looking; confident, self-reliant, and sovereign state of the Republic of Somaliland.
