In tomorrow's Gospel Peter para because Jesus asked him three times if he loved him. Well, let me explain what happened: Jesus asked Peter "agapas me?" (do you love me?), Peter responded with "Philo se" (which means I have affection for you). We all know that agape is the highest form of love. A self-giving love. Jesus asked again, Peter still said "Philo se." The third time, Jesus had to speak Peter's language by asking him "phileis me?" (do you have affection for me?). Peter gave a beautiful reply, Lord you know everything, you know I have affection for you.

This 👇👇 made me teary. Dear God, please bless and protect our priests. "Some weeks ago, I was preaching at one of our outstation churches when an elderly man named Petero suddenly stood up and began walking toward me during the homily. His eyesight is poor, so people quickly rushed to assist him, assuming he wanted to step outside. But he told them, “No. I have missed the Epasait (the priest), and I want to greet him.” I asked them to let him come. As he drew closer, he stretched out his hand for a handshake. Instead, I opened my arms for a deep embrace. He smiled. I smiled. The whole church burst into joyful applause. It felt good to know that someone had simply missed me. That day, I promised Petero that I would visit his home. Since then, after every Mass in that church, I would always see him making his way to greet me. So when I celebrated morning Mass there today and did not see him, I decided it was time to fulfill my promise. On the way, we discovered that the path leading to his home was too narrow and rough even for a motorbike. But that did not stop me. I parked the bike at a nearby home and switched to my reliable “LegedizBenz.” The walk was not a short one. Eventually, we arrived. Petero and his family received us with overwhelming joy. With deep emotion, he told me that by visiting his home, I had become his best friend. But in truth, it was Petero who blessed me more. Seeing the distance he covers every Sunday despite his poor eyesight and frail health made me appreciate the depth of his faith. He told me that although old age often brings sickness and weakness, it is in the Church that God renews his strength and helps him carry on. Then he asked me to thank his wife, who faithfully helps him get to church each Sunday. What a testimony of quiet, persevering faith. Before I left, Petero presented me with a chicken. He apologized that his goats had been taken up the mountain to graze, otherwise he would have offered me one of them instead — but, he promised, perhaps on my next visit. But here is the most important testimony: The joy radiating from the faces of Petero, his wife, and his sister convinced me that the day had become special for them — not because I had come, but because Christ had visited them through the ministry of His Church. And the joy I carried within me was just as profound — not simply because of their hospitality, but because in them I encountered the living image of God. On my way back, I stopped for a while at Akamais’ family home, where I had parked my bike. After blessing them, they too generously gifted me another chicken in the Easter spirit. So I joked with them: “I left home poor and empty, but now I am returning rich and full!” And so, when people ask me, “Father, how is mission?” My answer is always simple: Mission is sweet because Jesus who owns it is the Sweetest. Remember, the chickens are for priests only 😂" Fr Samuel Okpara, MSP

@UcheMaryOkoli Tuesday’s Doctrinal Note concludes: “It is always inappropriate to use the title ‘Co-redemptrix’ to define Mary’s cooperation. This title risks obscuring Christ’s unique salvific mediation and can therefore create confusion and an imbalance in the harmony of the truths

@UcheMaryOkoli The co-redemptrix title for Mary is no longer recognized by the Church. The Vatican last year or so issued a document in this regard.
