Emergency Funds. If I woke up tomorrow, lost my job, and my portfolio went to £0 all at the same time, I would still be financially okay. This shows the importance of an emergency fund. 2026 data from the ONS said around 23% of adults in the UK would be unable to pay an unexpected expense of £850. How many months of cover do you have in your emergency fund?
