However the Bloomberg article states that there have not been any new projects greenlit at this time (including destiny related ones) and there will be/have been layoffs and cuts within bungie. But their source could be misinformed, Hard to say.

@ItsJaxtastic @MyNameIsByf @MacticsG1 @Skarrow9 D3 can still be in pre production, just like the leak in november said. Pre production is not active development, it includes pitching and concept phase, so it could still be real and in line with bloombergs report.
Pre production also takes a long time for such a big game

We might never do a day 1 raid again. Might never feel that feeling of working together to solve an ARG or secret in this amazing world. Might never feel that sense of community again.

Maybe im just stupid but destiny 3 seems like such a clear and obvious choice and it infuriates me that whoever is calling the shots seems ok with letting the destiny IP just fade away into nothing

@MyNameIsByf @MacticsG1 @Skarrow9 I can understand finishing D2, and keeping on with marathon *ONLY* if there’s a plan in place, a D3 in development, or at the least a new IP. But everything I’ve heard today apart from a few sentences that we believe to contain Destiny subtext, it just sounds like nothing. 😔

@MyNameIsByf At least they plan to do *Some* story stuff in the update to tie some loose ends. Maybe even set some up. But this is such a gut punch, and just when there were some murmurings of hope for this in the community.

@MacticsG1 I mean destiny has been bungies main source of profit for the last 12ish years. cutting off growth to that portion of your income with the delays and lack of reaction to player feedback is a great way to lose money. At the very least get D2 in a good spot before focusing marathon

i love marathon and think its super fun but this idea that it has anywhere near the same upside and potential that destiny does is crazy

All updated on launch day for the tiered loot in RAD activities. Weekly featured rotations will return for power and such. Helps keep LFG a bit more focused, but if you have a group you can hop into whatever. I know I’ll be hitting Pit of Heresy with my bud off the rip.

The number 1 worst thing bungie could do with the RaD reprisals in June is to drip feed them week over week.
Players are so sick of Bungie's antics right now that this WILL result in a number of players quitting the game forever.
Please avoid this incredibly obvious pitfall!

@A_dmg04 Eagerly awaiting more info, something I was wondering is; I recall you mentioning director updates coming at some point soon, what are the chances there will be some destination changes coming as well? (eg. tiered gear, new activities, in general reasons to hang on the planets)

@MarathonDevTeam hey guys, I’ve been having an issue with battleye. Basically every now and then it will give me the plum error code, and I will try the method of uninstalling and reinstalling but it only sometimes works. Unless I also uninstall the Destiny battleye (1/2)

@MrRoflWaffles I’d say pretty whelmed, the story is interesting enough (esp now that we’re tying in mwz) and the multidimensional/multitemporal nuketown has some potential in my eyes. But we’ll see how it goes.

@DestinyTheGame Honestly if it’s a thing where marathon needs the spotlight for a bit that’s fine. But it would’ve been better if we still got the update within the next month after marathon launch, but those QOL changes launch with shattered cycle. and when the hell is that coming?

Our next Major Update, Destiny 2: Shadow and Order, is undergoing large revisions and will be delayed.
This update is being changed and expanded to include sizable quality-of-life updates and as a result, will also be renamed. This update will now launch on June 9, 2026. We will provide exact details closer to release covering previously announced Weapon Tier Upgrading, but also additions like expanding Tiered Gear to all Raid and Dungeon activities, Pantheon 2.0, Tier 5 stats for Exotic Armors, and more.
Through June, we will continue to have routine bug fixes and stability improvements, continued portal modifiers, Guardian Games (March), and the return of a more frequent Iron Banner cadence (April).
In terms of communications, we will be focusing on providing you with updates about our live game content, community activations, and general upkeep through the TWID and our Destiny social channels.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. We will have more information on our next major update and future plans for Destiny 2 closer to launch.

@ItsJaxtastic impossible to know. largely depends on how it launches imo. if its banging then less attention required, if its rough then will eat more focus getting it into a better state.

At this point it feels like any roadmap or state of the game type of communication is definitely happening well after marathon release
Not much else to say other than it is what it is and that there really needs to be something in there that makes it worth this long of a wait
