@sagarkyasm @not_dying India is a very harsh place for all beings vulnerable&weak. Elderly as well.Which is also why parents on both the sides try really hard to make sure the kids remain attached. Mothers emotionally blackmail their sons,fathers their daughters.All the elderly want is a community

Sometimes, parents behave unexpectedly.
I know two sisters who lost their mother nearly two decades ago while they were still in school. They somehow survived the worst phase of their lives together.
A few days ago, the younger sister married the love of her life. Since then, their father has become more frustrated and angry. He keeps telling the elder daughter, "your sister chose her life and left. You should leave too.
Maybe it’s difficult for a father who has been dependdent on his daughters for meals, clothes, care, and daily life. But when daughters who grew up without a mother or brother finally try to settle in life, why should their happiness feel like abandonment?

Reminder that the "NRI dream life" is often a trap. My cousin just left her husband and came back to India. She said the reality of moving abroad was just extreme isolation, endless chores and toxic in-laws demanding extra labor to "stay rooted." She mentioned the "clean roads and fresh air" aesthetic faded real quick the second she realized she was expected to be a 24/7 unpaid laborer with zero social life. 🫠 So many young girls are stuck in this but can't leave because of family pressure at home in India.

Too many people in India take pride in not doing their own work. The laziness and the entitlement keep compounding. All in the name of ‘I have money so why not’. Except what are you even doing with your free time, your body, your intellect otherwise.

You are confusing two different subjects here. Physical assaults and crimes against women unfortunately exist in every society, even in first world countries and we need to put an end to that with immediate effect but the post wasnt about that..anyway, have a great Sunday ahead..😊

Women need to learn to coexist with each other rather than blaming men for all their problems. In every role of their life they cant stand being with another woman under the same roof. Be it saas-bahu, bhabhi-nanad, devrani-jethani..even daughters have an estranged relationship with their mothers and dont even get me started on female friendships.
So instead of plastering instagram with reels that say “if my son chooses his wife over me, I would have done my job as a mother” how about you teach yourself to live with your son’s wife and not create a situation where he has to choose between the two most important women in his life..

@Anshul_Mit I am not assuming. An evolved society, a civilized structure, first solves for basic safety (in every other country) then moves on towards addressing for its emotional, mental, other mind related traumas. One-off cases are understandable, but a widespread crisis is not.
