@PintSizedChippy @devlry I have a friend whose family has a farm, they really adore their animals, like their cats, cows, chickens, and dog. But then again, maybe Canadians are more caring? Lol jk idk

@ojibwe_poutine @devlry Not that I think they’re all like this… but tbh I didn’t know many farmers growing up who actually gave that much of a shit about their barn cats. They were just glad to have something around to catch the mice. Some would go missing and they’d just shrug and say “it happens” 😐

I won't lie to you & tell you setting boundaries is going to be pleasant or risk free. Setting boundaries is better than not setting boundaries, but you don't need to feel guilty or "weak" for struggling w/ it. Lots & lots of smart, strong, mature people struggle w/ it. Really.

The reason why kpop is tanking is because people here were never for music, it was for all vibes and Parasocial relationships, how long people can gagg at ghetto music because you all stan kpop idols for personality (you don't even know them personally btw)

@epikvibes I outgrew liking K-pop, not bc I only liked it for the trends or aesthetics, but because I’m getting older & can’t really connect with the younger generations anymore. The groups I liked are also either inactive or disbanded. I still enjoy solo artists & other genres in Korean

It's hard for me to understand people who outgrow liking kpop. Maybe because I got into kpop because I like the actual music. Not because of it being trendy or aesthetic.

@dprashorror @dprkat Yes, as you said, not everything is about his songs or albums. He still obviously uses symbolism to convey how he feels and what state he's in. But at this moment, he's just simply trying to survive.

@youdontknowdan @omgsidewalks I think you’re attaching a meaning that isn’t really there. Outgrowing a friendship can just mean things don’t align anymore, not that someone thinks they’re “too big.”

@omgsidewalks 'Outgrow' implies that you think you are too big for them, which makes me feel like you might be the problem. Its a very calculated and cold way to think about friendship.

SERIOUS QUESTION: Is it normal to outgrow your friends even if nobody did anything wrong?

@MarieEm99 @itsnwts It's all good though! I get what you were trying to say: "People who are good and intuitive tend to be more empathetic, and empathy feels like an intuitive trait rather than a learned skill." That’s an experience-based interpretation; it's just not a scientific definition

PLEASE stop calling people sensitive as an insult just because you don't have the emotional intelligence to understand things on a deeper level. This world needs sensitive people, empathy is a good trait to have.

@MarieEm99 @itsnwts That’s also why it can feel overwhelming. So I’d say it’s less of a special category and more about how someone experiences and manages empathy

@MarieEm99 @itsnwts it’s more like different components (feeling, understanding, responding) that people have in different levels. What people often call “absorbing energy” is usually more about high emotional sensitivity and not having strong boundaries or regulation yet

@MarieEm99 @itsnwts That’s literally what therapists and helping professionals are trained to do. Some people might be more naturally sensitive, but that’s different from saying others can’t learn it at all

@MarieEm99 @itsnwts I think there’s a bit of a misconception there. Empathy isn’t a “psychic gift”; it’s actually made up of different parts, and a lot of it can be learned. People can develop empathy through things like perspective-taking, listening skills, and emotional awareness
