I did not think a stray tweet would lead me to being awake the entire night binging this story, but wow, am I glad I read this. Probably my favorite romance manga of all time now, it's so grippingly and heart wrenchingly raw and human, and all the more beautiful for it.

It’s pathetic how 90% of anime is just power fantasies for lonely and crusty middle aged men or young incels. All these male characters are blatantly obvious boring self inserts being obsessed over by younger women. It’s cringey as hell.

when i first read this manga i was on a trip and i cried because it made me realize my at the time girlfriend didn't love me and would never care enough about me for our relationship to work out. possibly one of the most upsetting reading experiences ive had

I get the point of posts like this, but I need to reiterate for anyone who wasn't old enough to be there at the time: on release, bw were loathed. they were seen as the pinnacle of pokemon "going downhill" and "losing creativity". this style was abandoned because it was hated.
