“Administrations win championships. Coaches win games… if you’re not totally into it and they’re not committed, you’re not winning. You just can’t.” True at the high school level as well… x.com/slancehoops/st…

The most toxic person in a program isn't the complainer. It's the talented player with a mediocre work ethic that everyone else starts to emulate.

MYTH: 'You need D1 to be a pro or build a successful career.' REALITY: D3 grads are pro sports execs, doctors, lawyers, teachers, Fortune 500 CEOs... and yes, even pro athletes Plus an elite education, a social life, summer break, and zero NIL or athletic scholarship pressure

The best routines are invisible. They don’t scream “look at me”—they quietly make the hard stuff easier to do. Great performers don’t chase complexity. They refine simplicity until it becomes second nature.

One key differentiator for elite performers? They don’t see it as a sacrifice. Going to bed early, skipping the party, putting in hours of practice... That’s not giving something up. It’s living in alignment with what they care about most.

🚨ATHLETES🚨 Stop time watching early in the season. Stay in your lane. Everyone is doing different things and may be seeing early success. Cool. Focus on what YOU need to do for when it matters most!

Once you've won any kind of team championship, you quickly realize it was never about the trophy. It was always about the journey you took with the team. That's all you really remember as time passes. The laughs. The tears. The early mornings. The late nights. The failures. The victories. I think the best part though--that one kid that struggles all season to overcome obstacles only to show up big when they're needed most. That's a different kind of joy...The kind that makes your heart melt and reminds us why we coach in the first place. Hits you right in the feels doesn't it?

Sometimes disappointment is good. It's a signal that you care. That you are invested. The key lies in how you respond to the disappointment, not in feeling it.

🚨ATHLETES/PARENTS🚨 Most athletes are D2/D3. Accept that earlier. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS! Keep striving and working for D1 for sure if that is your dream… But do not EVER close the door on other options… especially if there is any form of uncertainty.

Soybean farmer reacts to Trump’s bailouts: "A government payment is nothing more than throwing a dollar bill on a spilled glass of milk on your kitchen table. It's designed to not make us whole as farmers, and that's the biggest misnomer of all. We're lucky if we get 3 cents on the dollar for a program that is designed to make up for a man-made disaster. This is a man-made disaster. This is caused by this administration and their actions"
