Tonga secures its 7th Green Climate Fund - GCF funded project, USD 42.1 million to advance climate‑resilient, regenerative agriculture and strengthen food security. The United Kingdom is one of the largest and longest‑standing donors to the Green Climate Fund. 🇹🇴

Yesterday morning, GMS Ma‘ufanga warmly welcomed the UK High Commissioner for the presentation of the Commonwealth Children’s Booklet. Students formed a guard of honour, and Form Two girls performed a tau‘olunga to Nepituno.

Ending the week with the presentation of the Commonwealth Children’s Booklets to GMS Kolovai on Tongatapu’s western side. A warm welcome, cultural performance, and reflections on the enduring Tonga–UK relationship.

Last week we farewelled ODI Fellow Gurtegh Singh after his 2‑year UK‑supported placement in Tonga. His work with the Tonga Statistics Department improved data and analysis to support stronger economic policymaking. Wishing him the very best in his next chapter.

The UK High Commissioner presented certificates to participants of the two‑week Leadership Training Programme funded by the UK Government. Delivered by senior leadership specialists from the UK College of Policing, the programme strengthened leadership skills across Tonga Police.
