Here are 70 Canadian short stories available free online cbc.ca/books/here-are… So many choices to share diverse perspectives and stories that reflect the lived experiences of all students and their families.

When speaking in English with a multilingual student (or anyone) focus on meaning. Don't turn every interaction into a grammar lesson.

It is important to understand that the phonological features of student’s native languages can impact the ability to learn English. Some English phonemes are not found in other languages. Therefore, these phonemes can be difficult to pronounce and auditorily identify.

PWIM (Picture Word Induction Model) is a great strategy for teaching vocabulary and language structure. Students love labelling pictures in shared writing to help with oral and written output. For a digital version, I insert a pic in PicCollage or Slides. #wrdsbMLL #wrdsbOnline

Here's a framework that I created, while taking @TanKHuynh's amazing "Teacher Collaboration" course, to assist teachers with using the collaborative model to support MLLs. My hope is that it allows for different points of entry. #AssetBasedEd #EmpoweringMLLs
