We remember people less for what they did & more for how they made us feel.
It’s what’s showing up in the grief around Stacey King. His accomplishments matter, but what lingers is his energy & how he spread joy.
how you make people feel along the way is what you leave behind
"He made people feel like they belonged where their feet were...there are only a few people that we're lucky enough to meet in our lives that have that and he was one of those people."
@adamamin on his partner Stacey King:
I will never-ever meet another Stacey King. His abilities to analyze basketball games, breakdown plays and players was fantastic. Stacey also understood that entertainment and fun were organically vital to maintaining an audience and was incredibly gifted in doing so. (3)
I’ve never been so devastated about a public figure passing like I am with the passing of @Stacey21King
I couldn’t stop imagining how much we had to look forward to him calling this new era of Bulls games, but I know we don’t have to imagine.
We saw how he was with the DRose era. The nicknames.
One last thing I truly want to acknowledge is how kind he was to us all, online and offline. There will never be another like him in any community.
Rest in love and power big man 🤍
