The Steelers have met with Miami QB Carson Beck on two different occasions this off-season: - Formal meeting at the Combine - Pre-Draft visit Two meetings with a quarterback prospect usually mean something. Is the team quietly positioning themselves to draft him, or there some other intention behind it?

Based on a report from college2pro.com, the Steelers met with Georgia running back Cash Jones following his impressive Pro Day performance yesterday. What we missed, however, is that Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston has a pre-draft visit scheduled with the Steelers.

The Steelers meeting with Illinois DL James Thompson comes as no surprise. His draft stock has been rising since the Shrine Bowl. Plus he is highly versatile, excellent run defender with an underrated pass-rush arsenal.

Utah OL Spencer Fano’s arms measured 32 7/8 just now at his pro day, up from 32 1/8 at the Combine. Another indication that, for whatever reason, the measurements in Indy were short for a number of prospects. That’s a big 3/4 inch difference for Fano.

Notes on Georgia Pro Day The full Steelers brass was in attendance. Per "Dawgs HQ" co-owner, Rusty Mansell, Mike McCarthy was the first head coach in the building. TE Oscar Delp (#4) was the top performer of the day, registering a 38.5 vertical, 10-foot broad jump, and a 4.48 in the 40'. Making his appearance on this day was former Bulldogs QB Jake Fromm, who was called upon to throw at the pass catchers. Star linebacker CJ Allen didn't do any testing on this day (neither at the Combine), which could be the sign of an undisclosed injury. Stay tuned. Photos: Kaleb Tatum

@Schultz_Report Fantastic receiver. Can produce at various receiver spots, big body with reliable hands. Unsure he'll be taken on Day 1, but whichever team gets him will benefit from him quickly.

Louisville WR Chris Bell, who was widely considered a top-20 pick before suffering an ACL injury in November, is progressing ahead of schedule and is now running and jumping. Teams are intrigued by his unique skill set at 6’2.5”, 225 lbs, and in-game GPS tracked him at low 4.3 speed in full pads. Bell already has visits scheduled with 13 teams (and has completed four) and is expected to be fully cleared by training camp, and chance of being first-round pick is still real.

@JPattersonTile @CassidyWoodTV @KDKA Not necessarily. The Steelers had a low turnout at Oregon's Pro Day last year (Kelvin Fisher), and they ended up taking Derrick Harmon in the first round. The general deciding factor would be the pre-Draft visits and if they meet for a Pro Dinner.

Not hard to see Allar’s arm pop in person. His ultimate trait by far. That’ll enrapture scouts who watch him on tape and in person today. It’s the rest of his game with big questions.

Hmmm. Draft legend Mel Kiper's latest mock draft has the Steelers selecting Penn State offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane with the 21st overall pick. Considering their need at left guard, could this be a possibility?

Oregon Pro Day - As expected, the Steelers were one of 31 teams that made the trip to the event (the Rams did not attend). None of the participants performed any vertical jumps, but they did run the 40. The most notable runner was DB Jadon Canady, who posted a 4.40. OL Alex Harkey (6'6", 327 lbs) recorded a 5.27 — a solid time for his size. TE Kenyon Sadiq was the main attraction, and he did not disappoint with his smooth route running and reliable hands.
