Explaining the behind the scenes saga that has Hilary Knight headed to PWHL Detroit, not PWHL Las Vegas.
It includes EFOs and the belief that Knight was always heading to Detroit with no desire to be in Las Vegas.

@IanKennedyCK If Ottawa loses another roster player in phase 2 they will have the same number of players on their roster as the expansion teamโฆhow does that seem fair while the Walter Cup Chanpions have lost 1 player up to this point
If the remaining spots for PWHL Detroit (1), San Jose (1), and Las Vegas (3) have not been filled by 1pm tomorrow, teams will then simply "select" players from their 20-player list to complete the five players they each need in this phase beginning at 3pm.
@t_kelly15 Saying this is on Mike is unfair to him. The league created these rules and did not care about destroying players connections to the fans. No GM is their right mind does not protect Gwen or Ronja. The third protect can be debated but it using on Clark or Jenner was not the move
God expansion is truly the worst thing this league has done. Destroy your fanbase to create new teams that no one is even rooting for.
Ottawa has now lost all foundational players and their last two first round draft picks because of this fuckass expansion. Itโs not fair
The PWHL reported today that between regular season and playoffs the league drew 1,229,584 fans across 133 games, an average of 9,245, this season.
It was more than their preceding two season total of 1,220,985... in 54 fewer games.

There's been a slight change of heart from the PWHL who is now allowing season ticket holders in some markets to attend PWHL preseason games.
Promising to see more opportunities for fans.
