Orwell described a nightmare you would recognize. You'd feel the boot. You'd know the cage. That tangibility is what makes resistance possible.
Huxley described something harder: a cage you'd furnish yourself, and call home.
The most dangerous tyranny needs no enforcement, because the population enforces it voluntarily.
Look around. Which dystopia are you living in?

Residents across West Northamptonshire are beginning to feel the impact of the Reform administration who have only been elected for one year. After the budget was pushed through last month, the impact of the budget is now coming to fruition.
Here are some of the things they've introduced through West Northants Council 👇:
🔶️ Reform are charging people to use our Country Parks, including in West Hunsbury in my ward.🌳
🔶️ Removed free parking on the weekends in out Town Centre, whilst increasing parking charges. ❌️
🔶️ Are charging blue badge holders to park at WNC car parks 😳
🔶️ Increased Council Tax, but failed to collect the bins on the same day (you couldn't make it up). ♻️
🔶️Increased green waste bins charges. 🚮
What they haven't done is cut waste, stop the boats or reduced Council Tax, as they promised in their LOCAL election leaflets in May 2025.
Welcome to a Reform run administration 🙄😤

All due respect, but Lynch is part of the problem here.
However much criticism is directed at Starmer, the failure to recognise that the Labour Party itself has fundamentally and irreversibly transformed into a party of corporate interests, Thatcherites and warmongers gives legitimacy to its agenda – as well as undermining effective opposition.
Fine to not be a Green, but frankly insane and inexcusable for someone of his level of influence on the Left to continue supporting Labour.

"I'm not voting Green in this election because I still believe in a Labour movement" Mick Lynch, former RMT General Secretary, tells @bbcpaddy that while he will not vote for the Green Party, "maybe they'll be part of a bigger labour movement in the future." #Newsnight

We know how you define "defending your country".
It means the mass slaughter of innocent people, including this 8-month-old baby.
The truth, is you have already lost.
The world despises you.
And one day, this evil will finally be ended.
Alex Gandler@AlexGandler
I wish I could give you a title as well but I truly have no idea what your qualifications are for commenting on anything. What I am is a man defending his country, first on the battlefield and now in the diplomatic arena. Owen Jones is a privileged little boy with a keyboard.

Since Children in Need was introduced in 1980, child poverty has risen from 20% to 31%.

It feels a bit wrong selling Red Nose Day noses on Amazon when we probably wouldn't need Red Nose Day if those fuckers paid their proper tax.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America.
A Syrian billionaire needed U.S. sanctions lifted so he could cash in on $12 billion in reconstruction contracts.
In an attempt to influence American foreign policy, he proposed a Trump-branded golf course, cut Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump into a multibillion-dollar real estate deal for a resort in Albania, and had someone physically deliver a stone engraved with the Trump family crest to a Republican Member of Congress with instructions to take it to the White House to get the President's attention.
Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it.
This is a corruption of everything the office of the presidency is supposed to stand for, and the American people deserve to know about it.

So are we going to see national news coverage of the fact @reformparty_uk are running a candidate in Saltwell (Gateshead) who is a former BNP member - a vile racist, antisemitic and extreme fascist political group?
No? Nothing? Not interested in potentially dangerous fascists?
