Israeli scientists have developed a simple stool test that could spare millions of inflammatory bowel disease patients from repeated colonoscopies - invasive procedures used to monitor gut inflammation and treatment effectiveness.
The breakthrough, led by Hebrew University of Jerusalem researchers and published in Microbiome, found that human DNA shed into stool by immune cells provides a detailed, real-time picture of intestinal inflammation. The discovery turns what scientists previously dismissed as biological "noise" into a powerful diagnostic tool.
"For too long, the human DNA found in stool samples was treated as biological 'noise' that we filtered out," said Professor Moran Yassour. "Our findings show that this DNA contains valuable, unappreciated information, reflecting the immune system's activity in real time." @HebrewU

Sport is meant to bring people together, break down barriers, and promote respect and sportsmanship. When Irish celebrities and soccer players push to boycott a match against Israel, they undermine the very values that international competition is supposed to represent.
Israel is scheduled to play Ireland in Dublin on October 4, while Israel’s designated home match on September 27 may be played at an alternate location.

Ninety million Iranians have been cut off from the world for nearly 70 days - while their government officials freely post on social media.
As the internet blackout approaches its 70th day, exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi announced global protests for Sunday, describing the restrictions as holding the Iranian people "hostage." The regime has conducted mass arrests and increased executions while citizens remain isolated from the outside world.
The blackout has created a two-tiered system: most Iranians can't access the internet, while select regime-aligned individuals receive privileged access through "white SIM cards" and special packages. Those desperate enough to risk connecting through Starlink or VPNs face deadly consequences - one man was reportedly beaten to death by security forces for accessing the internet.
Iranian regime officials, meanwhile, continue using social media platforms unrestricted.

We stand with all those who continue to fight extremism and hate, bring Jews and Christians in Israel together, and work to prevent harassment and violence going forward.

Jordan Cope, StandWithUs Director of Policy Education, examines Qatar’s funding of American universities in a recent piece published in The Cannon.
“As an undergraduate at the University of Texas, I was tasked with investigating the funding sources of Hamas, the terrorist group that murdered 1,200 people, including 46 Americans, on Oct. 7, 2023. A truth became apparent: Qatar was not only one of Hamas’s biggest funders, having contributed billions of dollars, but also one of the largest foreign financiers of American universities. Texas A&M alone received $1 billion from its state-sponsored Qatar Foundation.”
