If warning is reaction to suspected intelligence activities or actual interference by foreign "agents" (presumably Russian), perhaps it should be more explicit? Call me naive on foreign interference, but protests don't seem orchestrated to me. Lasting too long, too un-organized.

If warning is reflection of conspiracy theories blaming "foreign instigators", then I want to register solidarity w/ protesters who are exercising right to express frustration w/ government & w/ corruption. That right to freedom of expression is fundamental to democracy.

The Mongolian People's Party controls parliament, and the presidency too. If current motions to increase the size of parliament succeed, I suspect that % of MPP membership will further increase. #Mongolia is effectively a single-party state. (image from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Mong…)

"All power lies with parliament" is an important reminder that #Mongolia-ns -unlike so many ppl living in autocracies around world- have elections as a pathway to address grand #corruption. Despite challenges w/ 🇲🇳 democracy, parliamentarians & govt can be held to account.

My translations of the protest signs at current demonstrations in #Mongolia: "Accountability!" [/"Recognize responsibility!"] "Announce the names!" "Lower taxes!" "Stop the thieves!" "[We have] come to struggle for the children, seeds of the future!" "Wake up!" [English]
Bystander Майдар@Tatarmai

Some people carried banners saying "Name the thieves" and "What did you do with taxpayers' money? We want to live happily in Mongolia."

“My understanding and teaching around truth was it comes from the heart. If it doesn't come from the heart, it's not the truth.” Listen to Ep. 1 of #Taapwaywin, a new podcast on why we need truth before reconciliation.

I've been reflecting on divergent critical mineral definitions for a while now...Global collective discussions on mineral scarcity issues are necessary with the projected 2040 demands. For these discussions, there must be unified understanding and definition of what is critical.
Daniel Franks@_DanielFranks

Why are minerals, one of the classic elements of nature so key to human existence, missing from the SDGs? Today Julia Keenan, Degol Hailu and I publish an article in @naturesustainab (free access: rdcu.be/cXglF) that attempts to answer this question.

Here's the figure I worked up a few months ago on how different countries define critical minerals. In my POV, new definitions based on development, poverty and scarcity completely recontextualize this list.

"Harvest Moon" (Эргэж ирэхгүй намар), lovely film by A Baljinnyam premiered @VIFFest. Nice story, obviously stunning scenery, and who can't relate to the challenges of countryside cell phone reception... chineseshadows.com/amarsaikhan-ba… 👍🇲🇳🎥
