Bought a ₹20 Bhel from a street vendor and it was wrapped in someone’s 2 page bank statement.
Name, account number, transactions… everything just out there like it’s normal.
Privacy is seriously a joke in India 😭
Near my house, there is a Dry Cleaner who presses 350 clothes daily at a rate of ₹10 each. Total Daily Earning = ₹3,500.
He also dry cleans 20 clothes daily at a rate of ₹250 each. Total Daily Earning = ₹5,000.
Which means daily ₹8,500 × 31 days,
Monthly ₹2,55,000 can be easily earned.
After all expenses and staff salaries, ₹2 lakh is comfortably saved.
This is something that even people in a corporate job or with a big degree can earn excellently.
It also challenges the common thinking that only 'White Collar' or Tech Jobs give good money.
In talking about this whole language issue. I learnt Kannada rather late in life. In Bengaluru, where one can get by perfectly well without it. I still made that effort.
Now that I am running an MSME in Mysuru, the payoffs are obvious. My Kannada is not the best. But, I do have to talk to our workforce and give speeches to them. They know that I make grammatical errors. Some of them correct me gently and I learn. But they appreciate the fact that I make that effort to speak to them in their language.
I think that effort is what matters.
The slowdown on the Green Line between RV Road and Jayanagar stations is due to a temporary speed restriction imposed by BMRCL for essential civil maintenance work (including replacement of support bearings on the elevated corridor).
This has been in place since mid-February 2026. Train frequency/headways remain normal, so services are unaffected overall — just slightly longer travel time on this stretch for safety.
@OfficialBMRCL@nammametro
Any update on when the maintenance will be completed and normal speeds restored? Many daily users would appreciate a timeline.

With E20 petrol, as mileage per litre drops, people end up using the same quantity of petrol part of fuel, wasting money on the ethanol. With reduced fuel efficiency, we are contributing more to the pollution. Is it not?
I fuelled up my car yesterday with 30 litres of petrol. Today the prices are up by Rs. 3/- so I saved Rs. 90/-.
Please advise where can I invest Rs. 90/- for maximum returns.
@DealsDhamaka The convertible fridge I have been using for 2 years. No issues so far. We are using the freezer compartment as refrigerator which is saving a good amount of electricity.
The ticket was confirmed, the seat was also hers
Yet a fine of ₹2650 was imposed
In Train No. 15013,
a female passenger had booked a confirmed 2AC ticket
from RKB Raika Bagh Jn.
But she did not board the train from RKB
She got on the train about 2 hours later
from PMY Pali Marwar station.
The female passenger kept telling the TTE only one thing repeatedly:
"But my ticket is confirmed."
But the TTE did not listen at all
and imposed a fine of ₹2650.
This is a rule of Indian Railways
that most people do not know.
If you do not board the train from your chosen boarding station
the TTE can mark you as NT, meaning Not Turned Up.
What does it mean?
Your seat may be allotted to an RAC passenger.
Even if you have a confirmed 2AC ticket,
later boarding can be considered without valid claim
and you may have to pay a heavy penalty.
Something similar happened with this female passenger as well.
She had a seat,
she had a ticket,
but a small mistake made the entire journey expensive.
Therefore,
it is important to know this rule before traveling.
Has this ever happened to you on a train?
A traveler from Germany had recently arrived in Delhi for the first time.
He wasn’t interested in luxury hotels or expensive places.
He wanted to explore the old streets, local food, and the real side of India people talk about online.
That evening, he was walking near Jama Masjid when an e-rickshaw driver stopped beside him and said,
“Sir, full market tour… very cheap.”
The tourist agreed and hopped in.
For the next thirty minutes, he was taken through crowded lanes, colorful markets, and famous food streets.
He loved the experience and kept smiling the whole ride.
But as soon as the tour ended, the driver turned back and said,
“Sir, ₹4500.”
The traveler looked shocked.
“₹4500… for this short ride?”
The driver calmly replied,
“Special foreigner tour, sir.”
Nearby, an old tea seller had been listening quietly.
He stepped forward, explained the actual fare to the tourist, and then looked at the driver and said,
“Visitors come here to collect memories, not bad experiences.”
Before leaving, the tourist smiled and softly said,
“Today I saw two sides of India…
one trying to take advantage of me,
and another trying to protect me.”
The truth is, people may forget the streets they visited…
but they never forget how they were treated there.
Before the stethoscope was invented, doctors examined the heart by literally placing their ear directly on the patient’s chest.
In 1816, French physician Rene Laennec felt this was awkward and inappropriate while examining a young woman.
So he rolled up a sheet of paper into a tube.
To his surprise, the heart sounds became even clearer.
That moment led to the invention of the stethoscope...one of the most iconic tools in medicine.
@manoj_ahi In my area garbage collection happens every alternate days. they charge 100/month.
But unfortunately 40% of homes prefer to dump it in open plots instead of paying 100/month.
result-> garbage everywhere 🥲
I live in a country where:
- There is no garbage collection happening in my area.
- Because of that, people are dumping garbage everywhere.
- I complained to the municipal department about this. Nothing happened.
- Complained on the CM helpline. After a couple of days, a garbage collection truck came.
- It came for just one day, then stopped.
Complained again. Same thing happened. Came for 1-2 days, then stopped.
- The reason: the road connectivity in my area is too bad for the truck, and there's a risk of the truck getting damaged. Fair enough.
- Complained to the CM helpline about the bad road. Nothing happened.
- Complained again. Got a response saying it's in the plan, will require around ₹22 lakhs, but they don't have the budget right now. Was told to be patient.
That was a year ago.
I believe people can change. But this kind of incompetence from the people who run the system is exactly why India is, and will remain, a developing nation while other countries race past us.
The only way I can fix this now is to hire a garbage truck for my area myself. And fix the road myself.
Because yeah, greatest country in the world.
My suggestion to people: if you ever get the chance, go settle in a country that actually values its people.
@drsunita02@yourdocvikas In Bengaluru, we have NICE road where the right lane speed limit is 120 kmph. As you said, slow moving trucks occupy all the lanes randomly. We end up driving our cars in a zigzag manner.
Between ORR in Bengaluru, the average speed is 10 - 15 kmph.
@AnanthHSM@yourdocvikas So what is the speed limit in Bengaluru ORR?
This thread is for any highway which has more than 1 lane.
The right lane is the overtaking lane. And people block it by driving slow on that lane. Leads to frustration and road rage
Husband driving, me passenger, on ORR.
Why do slow moving cars stick to the extreme right lane/fast lane on ORR or highways? Despite flashing lights or honking, no one changes their lane.
What goes in their mind?? Why this Fevicol ki jodi?
Would love to know the reasons.
#ORR#Driving
@yourdocvikas@drsunita02 Thinking that this thread is about ORR Bengaluru, I started reading. Once I read 100kmph, suddenly it struck me that this is about some other city.
@drsunita02 Because the left lanes are more slower. I take ORR daily for home-office. I drive around 100kmph. I cannot drive on lane no2 due to slower lanes on the left. Also, it’s dangerous to change the lanes too often.
Never engage into any adventure sports anywhere around the world except in Europe or USA or New Zealand or countries where proper safety measures are taken. Rest all countries it's totally not worth the risk.
A woman goes to see the doctor, because she's embarrassed by her flat chest.
"Is there anything I can do about it?" she asks "I don't want to have surgery or anything like that."
"Let me see" says the doctor, and has her stand up for an examination.
"Well" he says "there is one thing you could try. It's non-invasive and doesn't involve medication."
Now the woman is really pleased. "What is it?"
"Take a tissue and wipe between your breasts twice a day."
"Is that it?! Will it work?"
"Well, it worked on your ass..."
In Ahmedabad, a husband and wife started living separately. They have a daughter.
The court ordered the husband to pay maintenance:
- ₹12,000 to the wife
- ₹6,000 to the daughter
The wife challenged this order. She said her husband earns ₹79,238 per month and also makes about ₹35,000 from share trading.
The wife was ready to return, but the husband made no effort to take her back.
The husband said he has loans to repay and a retired father to support.
The court said that loans taken to create assets cannot be used to reduce maintenance. He has 4 people to support, so his income should be divided into four parts.
The court ordered him to pay ₹19,800 per month to the wife and ₹19,800 per month to the daughter.
