@BreadBreakJC @JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter I mean he was elite in deep throws in ‘23, bad in ‘24 and slightly above avg in ‘25. The point I’m making though is that the offense will be heavy run 1st. Thats the identity they preach, anyways. That, will impact volume. So, with less volume = less counting stats/$ generally

If the players are right, it's going to cost Caserio a pretty penny to extend him next offseason instead of this offseason. ...but do y'all trust Stroud?

@BreadBreakJC @JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter I disagree. The Texans don’t need a QB to throw for 4k yards. They want a competent game manager who can take accurate shots down the field when the D focuses on the Run. The Seahawks just won a SB w a QB like that. That’s how the Texans will run the Offense imo

@JeremyBranham @BreadBreakJC @TexansCommenter I totally agree w you. QB contracts are expensive. That’s why I think you can believe that CJ is “your guy” and still take this to next off-season. But your guy being top 5 and being ~15 is different.

@BohemianHTX @BreadBreakJC @TexansCommenter Middle of the pack QB's get paid a lot, and next year Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels are going to bring up those prices, not to mention the natural inflation of the cap.

@JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter Pitre was 3/$40m w $10m guaranteed. There’s no risk w those numbers. Nico’s deal only had $52m in guarantee. Thats 2 yrs of high-mid WR AAV. If CJ was willing to sign a deal w team outs, I think NC would have an extension. Idt it’s about NC believing in him. Just the QB market

Jalen Pitre was not a top 5 player at his position group at the time of his extension, neither was Nico Collins (although cheap). Now both played into that. Caserio is strong with his convictions, which I applaud. It's just a tell on their true feelings about Stroud (not saying it's wrong).

@BreadBreakJC @JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter I’m not advocating for an ext. I’m just saying that CJ AT BEST is probably top 5-10 QB. At worst he’s probably 15-20ish this yr. Mostly likely outcome imo is that he’s middle of the pack. Idt that’s moving the price for CJ significantly.

@BohemianHTX @JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter If he, by some God given miracle, becomes a franchise QB in one off season the 5-10m you save would be irrelevant. You're not losing anything by waiting. Whatever he gets paid will be worth it. If he sucks, you just wasted 50m a year or whatever the price tag is.

@JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter The franchise cornerstones that have been locked up are top 5 players for their position group. Stroud, is not a top 5 player for his position group. Therefore, the numbers are much different when you’re talking extension. The market isn’t set. Idt that’s indicative of ext or not

@BohemianHTX @TexansCommenter Truly convinced that he's your franchise QB. Caserio pays his franchise cornerstones top of the market, and early. If he's already truly convinced of that w/ Stroud, Stroud will have a new deal before they take a regular season snap in 2026.

@JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter What does “truly convinced” even mean? Truly convinced he’s a starting QB or truly convinced he’s a top 10 QB? The diff between the 2 in price is sig different. I agree. NC doesn’t believe he’s a top 5 QB, but idt that’s the Question irt an extension (like it was w Sting/WAJ)

@BohemianHTX @TexansCommenter If Caserio was truly convinced in Stroud, he'd extend him THIS offseason. - It's his MO, he extends all his good homegrowns early - It'd save him cap space in the long run, if Stroud is good, also his MO

@JeremyBranham @TexansCommenter U keep saying “truly convinced” but idt it’s binary like that. Clearly CJ left something to be desired w how he finished. Idt thats debatable. So - you can maybe save like ~$5-10m per if you extend this season vs wait? Theres logic to extending AND waiting.

@TexansCommenter I mean, I couldn't pay him yet. If Caserio was truly convinced of him, he'd extend him this offseason before the price of the QB market goes up.

@SeanPaulCBB The nexus between Sorsby betting on his team while on the team, and competitive integrity being jeopardized isn’t that far fetched.

College athletics is in such a bad spot because of shit like this. Players getting paid is a good thing, that’s always been my stance. It’s bc of stuff like this. Sure, Sorsby wasn’t playing, so the competitive integrity isn’t “at risk”, but betting on your team should be enough.
Sean Paul@SeanPaulCBB

Not talking about Sorsby personally, it is what is — but it’s a total joke just how rules just straight up don’t matter as long as you sue . I mean, of course this is the best outcomes for Texas Tech and people in Lubbock. So why would it go any other way?

@nashville_rob @brithume lol that would be shot down about 100/100 by the courts. The team, which is privately owned, would service the same metropolitan area whether in Indiana or Illinois.

@wischlist @Hstlinghosptlis @KevinKaduk Luke Combs drew 92k and Cody Johnson 80k this year. I was at a sold out Morgan Wallen Concert at Empower field in Denver a couple years ago… I mean - a lot of people can sell out 75k

@Hstlinghosptlis @BohemianHTX @KevinKaduk 1) Concerts don't get rained out. 2) You don't avoid outdoor venues in the summer because of fear of rain. 3) How many acts draw more than the 63,500 that can fit inside Soldier Field? Taylor Swift? Who else?

@KevinKaduk @Hstlinghosptlis Somewhat ironically, I think the Bears in Indiana actually helps Soldier Field remain viable as an entertainment venue in the city. If the team moved to Arlington Heights, I suspect it would be considerably less so.

@a_texans1234 @Djbienaime The Texans have a pretty good idea, and have acquired WRs that provide shifty/change of direction capabilities. Im pulling for tank, hopeful he’s awesome. But it acting like I’m talking about your child. They’ll use him limited early, with mostly slants, posts and go routes.

@BohemianHTX @Djbienaime The only thing higgins has similar to nico is his size. The fact that you think tank is a wr utilized to stretch the field invalidates your opinion. Can he? Sure. Is that what hes best utilized as? No. The quick out routes and his twitch is what makes him effective.

@a_texans1234 @Djbienaime Different types of WRs. Higgins is similar style to Nico - can run routes all over the field, big/physical, good hands. Dell is a stretch WR (assuming he’s still fast). Higgins will get run as WR2. Dell, Noel, Bond, Hutch will be WR4 depending on play/injurys
