The difference is that the Lancaster House Constitution was an expedient document designed in a few weeks to end a war, not a sacred pact designed by the people of Zimbabwe, created after an intensive consultation countrywide and reflecting the deep rooted will of the people. Using the Lancaster House Constitution is a very poor excuse for a process which rips apart the essence of the Zimbabwean Constitution supported by 94% of the electorate who voted for it in 2013. If you honestly believe what is proposed is an improvement and in the best interests of the people, not an obscenely rich cabal, then comply with section 328 of the Constitution and submit it to a national referendum. One final point - the British designed Lancaster Constitution never required a referendum for its amendment unlike the Zimbabwean People’s Constitution sacredly agreed to in 2013.
