Read today that 61% of Michigan Athletic Directors are against adding a shot clock.
I have yet to talk to anyone in the basketball community that is against the shot clock. Yet 61% of AD’s are against it. Blatant disregard for what people want. Feels like government.
In the same conversation…I have yet to talk to anyone that prefers the girls playing after the boy’s and this is a rule that has been forced upon schools and it is completely unwanted.
It’s time that the MHSAA and the AD’s of the state represent the athletes on these issues.

The middle school coach is dreaming about being on the high school staff
The freshman coach is dreaming about being on the varsity bench.
The varsity assistants are dreaming about being the varsity head coach.
The varsity head coach is dreaming about being on a college staff.
The college assistants are dreaming about being the college head coach.
Moral of the story. The job you’re discontent with is someone else’s dream.
The best advice I ever received: “Be where your feet are.”
It completely changed my mentality. Don’t waste moments. Don’t wish away your process. Don’t take the job you do have for granted.
Keep grinding, Coach!

Culture isn't about the posters hanging on the wall in the locker room. Culture is what the players are doing when they're hanging out in that locker room.
A team's true culture is what the players do and say when the coach is not around. Culture is what you reinforce, reward, allow, or accept.

Most HS seasons are coming to an end soon. The offseason is where real separation happens. Have a PLAN. Get in the weight room. Tighten your handle. Improve your shot. Develop your body. Study film. Don’t just play, develop. The work u do now shows next winter. @nresultsrecruit

As an AD with a child who plays sports, I understand the struggle of separating parent, coach, and administrator.
My kid has been cut.
He has sat the bench.
He has had to fight his own battles when things were not going his way and he had to talk to the coach.
My kid has found success.
My kid has learned to work hard.
I have never once spoken on his behalf to a coach.
Why? Because learning to advocate for yourself and overcome adversity is what shapes you into who you become.
Growth does not come from protection. It comes from perseverance. I do this because I love him.
